Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz is urging his colleagues to join with him in an effort to block the nomination of Loretta Lynch to be the next attorney general of the United States.
Hes right, but most of his Republican brethren are unwilling to go along with him. Leaving aside the reputation the junior senator from the Lone Star State is developing for being one to march to a different drummer, the fact is that Lynch's testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee did little to convince anyone that she is the right person to clean up the mess inside the U.S. Department of Justice.
Several Republicans have expressed opposition to Lynch based on her view that the immigration policies Obama issued last fall were legal and constitutional, Politico reported Wednesday. Among the Senate Republicans set to oppose her are Cruz, (Texas Sen. John) Cornyn, Jeff Sessions of Alabama, David Vitter of Louisiana and Mike Lee of Utah. Still, Lynch should have enough votes to clear the committee which is not expected to vote on the nomination until mid-February.
The committee will likely send Lynchs name to the floor with a recommendation that the Senate favorably advise and consent to her nomination and confirm her. This would be a mistake....

If the Pubbies approve her nomination they are nothing more than Quislings, aiding and abetting the dismemberment of our Constitution, our Nation, and our God-given Freedoms!

There is not even a smidgen of respect for the law from this AG nominee! She is an ACTIVIST and will continue the lawlessness and activism of Eric Holder. Where are the Statesmen in our Republic in this time of need?

Loretta Lynch and Mrs Eric Holder started a black sorority together while at Harvard. She’s a continuation of the activist Holder, nothing less.

Why did we bother to win the mid-terms in historic, heroic fashion? These nancy-boys couldn't fight an inexplicable urge, much less a ruthless opponent.
May be beyond fixing at the voting booth.

Advise and consent isn't much more than...."If anyone knows any reason that this nominee should not be approved, speak now or forever hold your peace". So someone speaks up...but the wedding goes on.
It was the privilege of the President to nominate these people because they will be his advisors during his administration. It works the same for both parties.
You can play games all you want...but 99% of the eventual nominees will be approved by an up and down vote.

Their responsibility is more than just advise and consent, they have the ability to stop this dead in the tracks if they are principled.
Just because something, up to this point, has always been that way, does not mean that they can't do the right thing now!
Quit giving them excuses!

With less than two years on this administration it hardly matters about the AG. Holder will remain until a AG is selected and Obama is just going to pick similar people.
I don’t believe Hatch would actually think of this ... he’s been dumbing down for a long time ... but it may buy some political capital for the committee to reject some future Scotus picks. Ginsburg isn’t going to last two years me thinks.

She’s too racist to be AG. Even during the Error of Obama, she’s too racist.
