Unsolved crime story from the 70s in OK that I came across on Facebook earlier.

Sidenote: The story lists the Doris's name as Miller, but what I am able to ascertain is that it is actually Milner. Also, not sure of the spelling of Michelle...one 'l' as stated in this article or two 'l's".

Roxann Perkins Yates / Red Dirt Report

Forgotten and falling into disrepair, the Camp Scott Red Barn was used for Girl Scout activities until 1977.

My cousin who has lived in Tulsa all of her life remembers this case. She has mentioned it before.

Gruesome story.

There seems to have been some clues that it was likely to occur. But back then, it was not even imaginable to even think of that happening. So they did nothing.

Fast forward to now. Stuff like happens all the time. If creepy hints and signs occur, people react.

Wow this has really ruined my day reading this.

About a hour south of me we have a brutal case that has now gotten cold.

Jessica Chambers was burned to death back in December and they don’t seem to be working the case now.

I wonder if the “Cold Justice” investigators have been asked to look into this case.

““It was a cross between a frog and bullhorn or something. It was low and kind of guttural. It wasn’t language. It didn’t seem like language. It didn’t seem human. It didn’t sound like any animal I’ve heard,” “

2lb. metal coffee can, poke small hole in bottom. 18” of nylon cord through hole and tie a knot on the inside.

Hold the can in left hand with opening facing away from you. Starting at the back of the can drag your thumbnail along the rope while pulling it taunt.

The amplified sound will scare the crap out of anyone and anything in the woods on a dark night and sounds guttural.

A horrible memory for those around here who remember it. Creepy, evil. Pure evil.

I suppose we're left with the reasonable conclusion that Gene Leroy Hart was guilty of it, but there never was a trial.

Even at my naïve, gullible age I didn't believe that he died of a heart attack at age 35 inside the maximum security prison at McAlester, aka hell's waiting room, Oklahoma branch. (H/T Cripplecreek.)

I suppose for the families of these little girls the truth will be revealed on the day that all things are revealed, and they will be comforted then.

I would take a closer look at the counselors. What kinds of men did they have relationships with?

Strange that a “note” should show up in the counselor’s tent with a warning.

2 people involved...one male, one female? The female raping with an instrument while the male did his business to the other girl?

I do wish the Cold Case gals would get onto this one.

I remember that evil day, and the controversy surrounding it. We had just moved from Tulsa to NW Arkansas.

I remember hearing of the lesbian rumors about the councilors, true or false I don't know.

A man brought in bloodhounds to try and find a trail of the killers but other professional bloodhound trainers said the man knew nothing about how to train a bloodhound and actually destroyed evidence by having a helicopter spray water in the area claiming it would make the scents better for the dogs.
Then one of my wife's kin, who had been on the search party, told me he knew that the real killer was in prison and some day a prisoner nicknamed “Black Death” would take care of him.

Needless to say, we always carried firepower when we went between Tulsa and Arkansas over old Hy 33. Now that I think of it, I still carry firepower when going to Tulsa!

Not terribly far from the Arkansas line.
Without any other clues, I’d look for a Clinton connection.
He was Attorney General during this period.

How awful! This makes my skin crawl. Those poor little girls and their parents. I was a long time GS, troop member from Brownies through Seniors, camp counselor, troop organizer, troop leader, and camp organizer. I remember camping in remote areas. I don’t remember hearing of this case, but in the 80s things did change in terms of security when we began taking our husbands with us and some of the leaders and their husbands sat up beside the campfire all night.
