On Tuesday February 3, 2015 the Islamic State released a video showing Jordanian pilot, Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh, 26 being burned alive while locked in a metal cage. The 22 minute video includes footage of Jordan’s King Abdullah II declaring his support for the anti-ISIS coalition.

I did indeed. The story was too horrible.....worst way to die. Can’t even think of this unthinkable act. I couldn’t look at video and didn’t read follow-up stories. Locked in a cage. Burned alive.
We need to fight ISIS over there not in our backyards like another poster on another thread mentioned.
If you are not CCL with two extra mag’s everyday than you are the target. Once a month combat handgun shooting range and every other month AR or combat shotgun too. Learn to shoot and get!

Most people miss that aspect of our actions in the Middle East. It is better to have the enemy fighting trained warriors in their backyard than attacking civilians in ours.
That sounds good, but in practical terms, what would be the targets? There are only around 35,000 ISIL fighters spread over a large geographic range. We have learned from drone efforts that it is hard to get enough bunched together to do large scale damage
Between the cities of Kurdistan being contested and say aleppo, there are mostly small town and villages with little concentration .
The only way to defeat ISIL (both Syria and Iraq are gone) is to invade and sweep forward. A sea invasion from the Med simultaneous with an assault from the remains of Iraq sweeping together is the only way to exterminate the vermin.
Additionally, all borders must be sealed beforehand to prevent escape.
This will happen only if Turkey actively joins the effort
