Mitt Romneys decision to forgo a third try at the White House has settled the question of whether the 2016 GOP presidential field has a front-runner bestowing a coveted status on former Florida governor Jeb Bush that also raises new challenges and perils.
Republicans have a tradition of picking an anointed one early. That establishment candidate almost always ends up with the nomination, although not without a fight and some speed bumps along the way.

I will not vote for Bush-PERIOD!
Bush GOPe nominee = 4 or 8 years of Marxist **** Hillary
Anointed by the Compost. Which will have all the RINOs sporting wood.
Yeah, if I was the Post I’d be rooting for Jeb also.
Pro amnesty, open borders (make that no southern border at all) loves common core. Talk about the GOP base not showing up at the polls. The Dems could bust a 3 time loser out of the pen, and run him successfully against Jeb.
After the traitorous actions of the new Republican congress, the base is not going to vote any more for a (barely) lesser of two evils liberal like Jeb Bush. If my family is any indication, the GOP has already lost half the base.
70% of the sheeple on FR will vote for Jeb bush when he is nominated. And 98% of the registered Republicans will pull the lever for this turd.
They know this. It is what gives the GOP leadership the confidence that no matter what piece of crap they throw in the voters’ bowl, it will be lapped up.
We are no better than the black Demorat voters if we vote for Jeb Bush.
Sure "national polls". Let's see....
National politicians are corrupt.
The national media is corrupt.
Crony corporations are corrupt.
But crony corporation polls, paid for by the national media, boosting national politicians?
That can't be corrupt can it.
From the looks of it I don’t think I’ll ever vote again!
What happens now?
Americans become even more demoralized.
Here’s not what but who: http://www.bostonherald.com/news_opinion/columnists/adriana_cohen/2015/01/adriana_cohen_no_man_better_than_bolton_for_our_top
I’ll vote for his opponent if he is the nominee.
Lesser of two evils.
How about that 2008 presidential election with Giuliani vs. Clinton?
They were the front-runners two years out!
"When" Bush is nominated?
Are you giving up?
Cruuuuz!
Question: Who would be insane enough to award Hitlery Clinton the "Liberty medal" on the one year anniversary of Benghazi?
Answer: A far left radical by the same of Jeb Bush.
"And ladies and gentlemen she allowed 4 Americans including a US Ambaassador to be killed by Islamo-Nazis so therefore I am giving her the Liberty medal on the one year anniversary of Benghazi just to shove it in the face of the victims families"
"Everyone everyone, applaud for ME! Aren't I so awesome?"
Jeb Bush - bringing out the “low information” Republicans!
Yes, let's play the "all the polls are lying" game again this season! LOL!
Take solace in the fact that it's early. At some point last election season, all the serious Republican candidates enjoyed front-runner status at least at one point throughout the campaign. Then again, in 2000, GW Bush enjoyed front runner status throughout the entirety of the campaign season.
The left is salivating over the prospects of tearing into Jeb, they are loaded and ready.
The good news is the Sandra Day O’Connor is still alive and kicking and by that I mean that perhaps the 4 & 1/2 conservatives on the court can hang in there another 5 years until we nominate a conservative who’ll win. If the moderates think they had a problem with conservatives sitting it out in 2012, wait until Jeb Bush runs in 2016. Half-assed is too generous in describing this guy.
