However, are we being hypocrites after discussing birther issues and wishing for a guy who was born in Canada?
Im asking sincerely, I love this guy, however, he was born in Canada ..... can or should he be a future president?
So????
Show me in the constitution where being born in another country to a US Citizen disqualifies you for being President?
Please provide the relevant sections of the U.S. Constitution that clearly and unambiguously define "Natural Born" as requiring two U.S. Citizens at birth.
Lacking that, Please provide the relevant sections of U.S. Federal Law that clearly and unambiguously define "Natural Born" as requiring two U.S. Citizens at birth.
Lacking that, Please provide the relevant rulings of the U.S. Supreme Court that clearly and unambiguously define "Natural Born" as requiring two U.S. Citizens at birth.
You can't because they don't exist anywhere except in your mind/opinion and in sources that are not legal or constitutional in nature.
The Constitution, it's amendments, US Laws, and SCOTUS rulings decide what is constitutional and what is not. Not sources that exist outside that framework like Black's Law or some vague understanding of what it meant to most, but not all, of people alive at that time.

Between the two you have two rather fearless and principled men. Walker understands governance; Cruz is a natural leader.
I agree with everything you have stated with the exception of the implication that Ted Cruz does not understand governance.
Ted Understands the Constitution, hence governance, in ways Walker can only hope to.
Ted just comes at it more from a position of principle than Walker, who seems to be moving more and more to pragmatic GOP-E like positions.

Cruz is the only way for me, but teaming up with Rand just may get him past Walker/Rubio, neither of whom have military experience or support. Ted and Ron go way back and share the same audit-the-Fed views.
Rand is going to lose POTUS if he runs, AND his Senate seat (can’t be on ballot twice in KY), so he may as well run hard and go for Cruz’ VP. It’ll be strange bedfellows for a while, but I’m willing to do just about anything for a Cruz presidency.

I will not be surprised if Rand sits this one out and gets re-elected to his senate seat. He’s young enough to wait 4-8 years.

Walker’s own constituency is moving him left. How can he win the nomination when his own state won’t vote for him?
Again, I don’t want a guy zig-zagging to the Presidency, I want a stabber and slasher and destroyer of the enemies of America, whose vision was crystallized years ago.

If we cant get over this meme that one issue disqualifies a candidate from the nomination One issue is enough if it is the right issue. Thankfully most of the GOPe have more than one right issue, that disqualifies them.

So did I misunderstand your original post 9YL?
I thought it was referring to Cruz.

Cruz is AGAINST any illegal getting citizenship. He is for identifying them. That is in the link you posted.

Yea, I know. This is the one weakness I have found in his policy positions.
Still doesn’t come close the growing list of policy positions that CANNOT be said to be conservative from Walker.
Furthermore, Walker has not defined his position on the rest of the sub-issues of Immigration, and Cruz has, completely and ALL of them are conservative in nature.
Finally, Walker has OPENLY stated his Open-Border mentality.
There is a wide-gulf between Walker and Cruz on this issue.

It is long past time for us to pass a strong balanced budget amendment, he said. What were doing to our kids and grandkids right now is, in my view, fundamentally irresponsible. Why not just introduce a balanced budget?
To: SoConPubbie
I’m mildly disappointed that cutting spending and reducing the size of government isn’t in his top ten.
To: Marcella
He’s for legalizing them.
To: SoConPubbie
Oh, Walker is 10 times worse than Cruz on immigration, and he’s probably the guy I support in the race as it looks to be shaping up.
But it’s a shame there’s not a single candidate getting in to fight against amnesty.
To: SoConPubbie
How about passing, and signing, a budget and sticking to it?
5% spending cut, across the board, for 4 years in a row.
Bye bye DOEn, DOEd, EPA,
If we aren’t going to secure the border, then bye bye DHS

Ted Cruz is going to have a hard time of it here on FR huh? Says who? You? Dream on.
Reality: I haven’t seen stronger support for any undeclared GOP candidate this early in the election cycle, here on FR for a very long time.
