Jeb Bush’s secret weapon in his potential White House bid is his wife of 40 years, Columba Bush, supporters of the former Florida governor say.
Columba, who would be the nation’s first Hispanic first lady if her husband wins the presidency, largely eschewed the public spotlight in Florida and is known for having a shy public demeanor.

The Mexican-born immigrant has steeped Jeb in Hispanic culture. They speak Spanish at home, and Bush allies credit her with helping shape Jeb’s “act of love” message on immigration reform.
GOP have all the fun you want. Execute all the perfect strategies to make Jeb the nominee. I will never vote for another Bush, PERIOD. Especially one with a Mexican wife who speaks Spanish at home.

What a joke- ever heard Jeb’s spanish, it’s ridiculous.
The wife is notorious for her excessive purchases on credit (like an Imelda Marcos) and their daughter was a quaalude freak in and out of rehab for years, and a total embarrassment and potential blackmail target for the mex cartels.
But... they’re hispanic....riiiight. An old line Cuban family of the Catalan persuasion would be a better “hispanic”. The NAFTA twins of mex and the US, oh yeah that will appeal to all Americans. What idiocy.
Anne Romney’s multiple sclerosis had no effect on the leftists who are always looking for tokens, even though she would have been the perfect token for disabilities. Ditto Sarah Palin’s gender, and George W. Bush’s overcoming of alcoholism. If JEB! becomes the GOP nominee, Columba’s ethnicity will be of no account whatsoever: there will not be a single Latino/a Democrat who will vote GOP because of her—she may be Latina, but she’s not down for la lucha de la raza (the race struggle). Only liberal tokens may apply.
I had a teacher who used to say that her parents came from Ukraine and that they spoke a different language at home. I always thought that was weird. Speak English for goodness sake.
Jeb would have a great chance to win the presidency if he would run as a democrat.
She refused to live in Tallahassee and spends money like water.
He is a RINO.
He will lose.

The one good thing is that this will be the demise of the GOP and hopefully the building of a party that we can support.

Easier said than done; conversations in a second language can be torturously slow (and “inaccurate”). If we had full immersion (where people weren’t getting radio/TV in the native tongues), it might work - it did for over a century - but nowadays it is too easy to get along without English.
A culture that has produced nothing but dictators and caudillos since Latin American got independence from Spain.
and it’s the culture that the Bushes and the rest of the GOP establishment will replace the American culture with.

Really his Spanish is bad? I heard comrade de blasio habla-ing the espanol during the recent non-blizzard and it too was muy malo.
