Ive been emailed this text of remarks Mitt Romney will be making to his supporters shortly:
Let me begin by letting you know who else is on this call, besides Ann and me. There are a large number of people who signed on to be leaders of our 2016 finance effort. In addition, state political leadership from several of the early primary states are on the line. And here in New York City, and on the phone, are people who have been helping me think through how to build a new team, as well as supporters from the past who have all been kind enough to volunteer their time during this deliberation stage. Welcome, and thank you. Your loyalty and friendship, and your desire to see the country with new, competent and conservative leadership warms my heart.
After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, Ive decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party the opportunity to become our next nominee.

I don’t know either but my guess would be that since there are so many illegal Mexicans up there, it might help having a Mexican Consulate up there to get things under better control and take the burden off Wisconsin government. We do have many Mexican Consulates in the USA already.
Uh you do know Walker has completely pissed off the Unions in Wisconsin right? They only tried to recall him TWICE! And he won both fights and he didn't cave in one inch on his platform to reform Wisconsin in spite of heavy criticism of the left, media, and big labor. They came at him with both barrels and the kitchen sink. He's still standing tall.
Let's not make this a Walker vs Cruz--your guy isn't good enough debate. They are both very very good. One is definitely appealing more to the base and the other has a proven track record in executive office. But both have shown to stick to their guns; however, Cruz is in Texas so it's easier to do (but still a challenge) and Walker is in a very liberal state...a lot harder to do.
Liars & smearers? Have you actually read the links and watched the videos?
Walker is asked in the video by the interviewer if he could envision a way for illegals, with the right penalities etc. to become citizens and Walker’s reply was “Sure.”
He hasn’t actually stated a policy yet as a candidate but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of information out there to get some idea about what he really thinks. He seems to be walking back his statements recently on several issues. Why do you suppose that is?
What you choose to believe or not is up to you. I’ve voted for the guy 3 times now and like him as Governor of our state. He can’t do too much damage as far as immigration goes as Gov. As POTUS not so much. So why would I smear a guy I voted for 3 times now and have sent $ to? I’ve posted enough supporting links to things that I have said so that I can’t be called a liar. Believe what you wish. Some of us are just trying to be helpful and share information so that you can make an informed choice in 2016. If you’d rather vote with emotion and blind faith that is up to you. It’s not like it hasn’t been done before.
Not an uncommon mistake gunner, and spell check don't catch it, oh well. I think there are many misused homophones that run rampant on all these type forums. I am tempted to say it is because they don't have proof readers but then I recall news agencies make plenty of the same mistakes. Since Charles Kuralt died we do not have a proper grammarian in the news business.
Also, I’d rather be dealing with these intruders in our country as Mexicans rather than as Americans, wouldn’t you?
I don't, since the anywhere else includes Muslim Refugees, among other reasons.
To be fair common core sounded good on paper. I had to really research why it was bad. In practice it’s turning out to be awful.
Allowing schools to CHOOSE to use it is fine by me...choice is good. Now we just need to give parents the choice which schools their kids go to...they can choose Common Core or not.
So are you saying you can’t see a way for them to become citizens? I can paint a scene that you’ll probably agree with.
All illegals who wish to become citizens have to go back to their country of origin and apply for citizenship.
See...so you too can see a way to citizenship :-)
No he doesn't all he said is Walker showed the GOP how to win by running an unapologetic Conservative campaign and winning against tough odds. Unabashed Conservatism is what Rush was touting and because Walker is the only one doing that he became the example.
“The immigration system is broken, but this is an issue that should be addressed through collaborative federal action, not unilateral action by the president,” Walker said. “President Obama’s actions represent a violation of his constitutional duty to faithfully execute the laws and exceed the limits of his administrative powers.”
Walker underscored that joining the lawsuit was not about the policy itself but about the process used to achieve it.
“To be clear, this lawsuit is not about immigration,” he said. “It is about the rule of law and the legality of President Obama’s actions.” Scott Walker’s statement on WI joining the lawsuit against Obama’s executive action on amnesty.

The lawsuit is about the executive action. It’s not a statement on amnesty. It is clear from Walker’s statement that it is the process that is the issue. He believes that instead of an executive action immigration policies need to go through the legislative process.
I am very pleased that Walker directed his AG to join this suit. It shows he has respect for the Constitution and our legislative process. As he should.
We do have many Mexican Consulates in the USA already.

Here’s a listing.......

“So are you saying you cant see a way for them to become citizens?”
If by “them” you mean those who have broken our laws and came into this country illegally, no. I can’t agree with giving them citizenship under any circumstances as they have already shown no regard for our laws. Why would I want to reward them with citizenship?
I have no problem with a reasonable immigration policy that is enforced. We already have immigration laws. I’m tired of hearing the buzz words “Our immigration system is broken”. No it’s not. Our government is broken when we have a president who refuses to enforce our laws and a Congress who does nothing about it. How about we start out by really securing the border, enforcing current laws and in 5 years see how that is going?
I would like to see immigrants who are law abiding, educated, healthy and have something to offer the country. Make it easier for that type of immigrant yes! But that is not what is being done and it’s not what we are getting. We need to focus on what is good for US.
Best news of the day.
We’ll have to agree to disagree, FRiend.
Walker has supported amnesty (aka path to citizenship) and CommonCore. Neither of which do I consider “unabashed” conservatism.
Here are some links to Walkers support of CommieCore...

Walker has been great going up against the unions, I will give him that...something the GOP could definitely take a lesson from Walker on.
WOW! Anchorage, AK is the last place I’d expect to find a Mexican Consulate.
We don't disagree at all. My post was pointing out that Rush never endorsed Walker, in fact he never endorses anyone in the primaries.
He got plenty or mail chewing him out for something he did not do, though I admit casual listeners could easily come to that conclusion.
I have been warning of of All the Amnesty pimps since before Rubio earned the
Look how in love we seem to be with Trey Gowdy and he is easily as soft on Amnesty as Walker.
That's WHY he's a low-info socon voter, but I suspect you already know that :)
Mexican Consulates are busily issuing Birth Certificates that our government then uses to give legal status to the illegals, we certainly need more of those. </sarcasm>
Agree with you Jim Rob. Fewer votes for Romney = more votes for Cruz, I hope.
