See also: Sarah Palin is Right: Go on Offense, Tout Conservatism
With Sarah Palin once again hinting at a presidential run, pundits and politics wonks are all the more aflutter with 2016 talk. The predictable slings and arrows of the surly left are coming her way, while her excited fans are firing up the troops. Then there are those who say that while they like the ex-governor, they don’t believe she could win the presidency. My focus, however, is a bit different: I have an objection to Palin -- one relating to something of which most are unaware.
Before getting to that, please indulge me as I ask a few questions that establish where we all stand. Are you adamantly pro-life, or might your position change if (as in polling) the question is framed as a woman’s “right to choose”? Do you stand foursquare against amnesty, or could you be persuaded to accept a “path to citizenship” for illegals? Do you uphold the proper and only definition of marriage, or have the unrelenting attacks on tradition worn you down to a point where you might conclude, “Well, none of this affects me, anyway”?
If you’re unwavering on all those issues, as I am, you’re a real Sarah Palin conservative.
Or are you?
You see, I’m pretty sure how Palin would answer those questions -- and one answer is a real problem.
On October 26, 2008, Palin had an interview with Jorge Ramos of Spanish-language network Univision. She was asked about amnesty: “So you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?”
Her answer: “I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here.

Dan Quayle talks about that in his book. He disagreed with George H W vehemently on several things but dared not say so.
Sadly we will never be able to drill into the majority of thick-headed cretins out there that she is NOT Tina Fey in the comedy skits they were watching on SNL.
Sadly, Sarah’s electoral career is likely done.
Fiendishly destroyed by comedy writers.
My Father’s parents were legal Ukrainian immigrants who came over in the late 1940’s. Once Naturalized, they BECAME Americans.
No handouts, free lunches, free tuition, or any other entitlement BS.
I like learning new words too. Multiple languages if I can manage to retain any of it. :-)
My mom was an immigrant. She tell me the story of how, at age 7, I helped her study for her citizenship test. 48 years later she has he citizenship certificate framed and hanging on her wall.
She did it all the right way.
The current occupant has made any objections based on "Presidential Material" irrelevant. We could not have found a more unqualified person than him who had a serious chance of winning.
My Grandfather almost didn’t make the grade on the test. They’d didn’t speak a lick of English.
He studied. He learned. Then he became a book worm. Read everything he could get his hands on. Insisted his Son’s speak English first. My Dad never even bothered trying to teach us kids.
Kinda lost some heritage there, but I’m trying to pass what there is on to my kids...

Thanks, you done larned me a new word.
Obama is our affirmative action POTUS. Sarah needs to be 10 times as qualified.
“I respectfully disagree. Any woman who has been a Hillary supporter is never EVER going to vote for a conservative like Sarah. If they have given up on Hillary for whatever reason, they are just going to vote for another liberal.”
You may disagree of course but you would be wrong. Consider this; Most people in this country do not consider themselves liberal... Even most democrats do not self identify as liberals.
Women of all stripes will vote for the first female candidate, just as folks from all parties voted for the first black candidate. Most of these people don’t follow politics and wouldn’t be able to define a liberal or a conservitive.
A third party candidate, especially one who most low information voters learned about on SNL, will give the democrat candidate a huge boost.
I am listening but it is only on FR where I hear all the Palin excitement. I have asked most of my conservative friends and family what they think about Palin and I hear NO excitement in their reply.
She has some great Conservative ideals but sadly, I just don't hear much about her away from FR.
“Women of all stripes will vote for the first female candidate, just as folks from all parties voted for the first black candidate. Most of these people dont follow politics and wouldnt be able to define a liberal or a conservitive.”
Even though I don’t like Obama, to his followers, I think he had or has charisma. I don’t think Hillary Clinton has that pizzazz about her.
“I have asked most of my conservative friends and family what they think about Palin and I hear NO excitement in their reply.”
If they are truly conservative, they will have even less excitement for a RINO candidate we’re likely to get on the republican side. True or not?
I think Obama got a lot of the “just vote for the black guy” vote.
I don’t think Hillary would get a “just vote for the woman” vote.
This is the very reason I cannot support her. If a burglar breaks into my house, I "understand why." It's because he wants my stuff and doesn't want to work to get his own stuff! It's because he's a selfish !@#$ who doesn't care about anyone but himself. Because I "understand why" he did it, does that mean he should have a path to live in my house and be a member of my family?
Palin's statement was absurd, and unless she recants, in sackcloth and ashes, begging forgiveness for ever saying it, I will not even consider voting for her.

Voters of all stripes voted for the first Black candidate. True or not?
“Most of the people I know have a very good memory of 3rd party candidate Ross Perot.”
Ross Perot could very well have won, had he not soiled himself at the last minute.
