Apple delivered the greatest earnings report in history on Tuesday.
That's not hyperbole. Apple earned $18 billion in net income over the three-month period of October to December 2014. That's more than any other company has ever earned over a three-month span.
Apple earned those mind-melting profits thanks mostly to the iPhone, which is an incredible business.
Apple sold 74.5 million iPhones, up 46% from the year prior. The iPhone generated $51 billion in revenue, giving each iPhone an average selling price of $687.

As if that makes a difference to any of those consumers ... except for you ... LOL ...
Then why are you interested in Apple threads ... :-) ...
I mean ... there are gardening threads all over the Internet and I have nothing to do with them. If I see it’s “gardening” I just don’t even bother ... I mean, why waste my time on reading “gardening” when I’m not the least bit interested ... LOL ...
Yeah ... talk about someone being obsessive/compulsive, stalking and wanting to control others and their thinking ... he’s the poster boy for that ... :-) ...
Sorry to disappoint you, but I did use them. I just didn’t like them as much as the PCs. I’ve had Apple products in my office since the first Apple II that I bought around 1980. Even then, I liked my CPM machines better.
I’ve had Windows, Mac, and Linux computers in both my office and home for the last 10 years. I run business software and gaming. I think the software selections for the PC were and are far superior to the Apple products, particularly for database management and accounting.
Additionally, I like to build and update my computers. Apple’s proprietary hardware makes that very difficult. So, because I’m retiring in six months, I gave away my Apple computers to colleagues last week. I just don’t do anything productive with those particular computers. They had lots of chances.
I always thought iTunes was a great way to go. The very first day that the iTunes music store was open, I bought some music. Now, many years later, I picked up an iPad and those very first songs I bought on April 28, 2003 were right there on my iPad, merely by opening the program and doing nothing else! (along with all the other music)! Amazing!
That's the ticket. Laugh at people for not being one of the sheep. Good job!
You’re simply out of touch to the vast and overwhelming number of consumers in today’s market — whether or not you like the way they think. Just because this vast consumer base doesn’t operate like you or think like you doesn’t make them worse off than you. That’s where you go wrong.
The companies accommodate themselves to the REALITIES of the consumer and how they think and operate. The ones that do this well, are VERY SUCCESSFUL ... just like Apple shows us.
This is how the vast and overwhelming majority of the consumers are going to think and evaluate “what they can do”. They are going to say, first of all, “How much money do I have to take out of my pocket right now to do this?” THEN, they are going to say, “How much do I have to pay each month?”
NOW ... if the money “out-of-pocket” is satisfactory to them, and they are okay with the monthly amount ... THEY BUY! And that’s about it.
Again, you’re simply OUT OF TOUCH with the consumer market and how this vast and overwhelming market works. They DO NOT work like you think, and that’s “YOUR PROBLEM” and not theirs.
I think we’ve confirmed you’re a stalker who is mentally unbalanced ... LOL ...
Companies that succeed ... accommodate the consumer and how they do things. That’s why Apple is WILDLY SUCCESSFUL!
YOU - on the other hand - refuse to accommodate or even “recognize” the way the vast and overwhelming majority of consumers are, and instead, prefer to call them names ... :-) ...
I’m just one person. If you really believed it was just me you wouldn’t give it a second thought.
“I think weve confirmed youre a stalker who is mentally unbalanced ... LOL .”
Oh? I’ve been insulted by thin-skinned cult members for a consumer electronics company!
My goodness, what shall I ever do? Go cry to Sowrdy. Maybe he can chuck a financial spreadsheet or something to make you feel better.
I’ve already seen several other Apple naysayers here on this thread, so I know you’re not the only one of those around ... :-) ... I just know that you and those other Apple-haters that show up here do not match the overwhelming consumer market that is out there. Apple’s dramatic success shows that.
Well ... we’re making progress. At least you know you’ve been insulted. Now, if we can get you to recognize your stalking and your need for mental help ... then we’ll be making real progress ... :-) ...
I'm not really a "hater". I work in a big IBM mainframe shop, so they hated me first. I'm just a big 'ol Karma lollipop.
BINGO! LOL!!!
“Defensive” doesn’t even begin to cover it. This thread speaks volumes...
There’s no sheeple like Apple sheeple
That is a lie.
That’s over a HUNDRED MILLION ... and growing ... :-) ...
