Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was released by the Taliban last year in exchange for five prisoners, is being charged with desertion, retired Lt. Col. Tony Schaffer told Bill OReilly on The OReilly Factor Monday.
Mr. Shaffer, who now works for the London Center for Policy Research, said two separate military sources have confirmed to him that Sgt. Bergdahls attorney has been given a charge sheet, listing out the articles of the uniform military code that have been violated.

In such situations as this, I wonder what General Patton would have done....probably NOT what I hear General Dempsey is doing for the Saudis...check Mark Levin’s program, 1-26-2015....
I’m sure they looked at this issue and tried to find ways to squirm out of it. But no squirming was possible.
Do you speak from experience as having been a company CO or platoon sergeant in combat? I think not as if you had been one-Bergdahl would have been gone from any non ticket punching officer’s platoon.
I’m surprised that they are charging him at all.
Obama looked at it as a freebie since he was going to release the Taliban terrorists anyway.
My guess, and its no better or worse than anyone else. Courts-Martial, found guilty, BCD, reduction in grade, no jail time. Not sure on forfeit of pay and allowances.
I think you are correct the more I research this. Contrary to earlier thoughts Bergdahl was said to be a quiet man,a non discipline problem, and; a well behaved EM according to LT Fancey who was the platoon leader prior to his being relieved for arguing with a superior officer. The platoon strength was at 35 men. The SFC who replaced the LT had no combat experience. The leaders were not what I would want. However it is obvious Bergdahl defected. He developed the same values his parents had. This is one screwed up family.
Confirmation of desertion charges now appearing all over MSM.
. . . . but Army spox sticking with denial.
So much for the media. (again)
And the reason for that is posted at # 32
This is BS... he’s not going to be charged... as per today’s news conference.
