COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities said they have found two bodies believed to be those of a missing Cobb County couple after a long search Monday.
During a press conference late Monday afternoon, Telfair County Sheriff Chris Steverson said the bodies of a man and woman matching their description were found a short ways away from the car belonging to the couple. They said that car was found submerged in a lake.
"My heart goes out to the Runion family. We've done everything we possibly could do to get this family found, get their parents found, unfortunately it's a sad outcome, but hopefully there will be some closure knowing that they have been located," Sheriff Steverson said during a press conference Monday afternoon.

“I ask again, how did he think he could get away with this?”
because they’re stupider than dirt, that’s how. I’ve got a good cop buddy who said it was very fortunate that the average criminal was so stupid, because the cops would be in real trouble otherwise. Just watch a few episodes of “48 Hours” and you’ll see just how stupid these murderous fools are. It’s also unbelievably hilarious to see just how easily these idiots are tricked into confessing after they are caught (usually because the crime they committed was caught on some stray security camera).
How the hell would they enforce that??? My daughter has sold a few things on Craigslist with no problems and just recently bought a chair from CL. She took her husband with her.
You can be robbed anywhere.
What kind of a guess? I read your post as referring to the guess that the missing couple was dead instead of alive somewhere under unexpected circumstances, but my guess seems to be wrong.
Probably, but most people never do it (I know that my acquaintance didn’t meet her fraudster in a public place, although she at least told other people that she was going to meet him). Of course, since it turned out that he wasn’t using his real name, this probably wouldn’t have been much help.
Or tired of living.
Just last month I sold 2 forklifts for over $10K, and a $12k excavator the month before that, all cash deals, invited them to my house so they could inspect them. So it is not all crooks and scams.
Oh OK and I have a rule to Blah blah blah.In other words Craigs List Rules don’t mean crap
That is just a rule that CL has for the safety of both buyers and sellers.
have the guy meet you at your bank.
Robert de Niro and Val Kilmer demonstrated the proper Craigslist protocol in “Heat.”
Well, I wouldn’t go that far. I am sure the perp in custody has done SOMETHING. Probably an accomplice somewhere also.
I’m just saying, we need to wait for more info.
Jeez!
Absolutely, Craigslist is not the problem, it’s the few who take advantage of others in society that is the problem.
I have also bought and sold big ticket items on C-List with no issues.
That said, I don’t go to a gunfight with a knife. I take many precautions when dealing with random strangers, whether it be C-list or any other place. These two nice folks were just not prepared for this type of transaction.
Sad, there used to be trust in the world. No more.
Looks like these two retirees were not at some ones home or place of business.time will tell..Think they were way to psyched to buy this Stang
You know, I can spot a scam ad on CL in a heartbeat, just gotta know what to look for.No text, noemails, phone calls only. I can spot a phony on the phone real quick.
Disclaimer for CL to stay out of court
I also forgot to add “subhuman” as in “subhuman white trash.” Thanks for the reminder.

I haven't watched "48 Hours" (if you mean the CBS show), but "The First 48" on A&E matches your description (as well?) and is one of my favorite shows.
(The title refers to the first 48 hours of a murder investigation, which are, we are told, the most critical hours. There's a recurring clock in the corner, with ticking sound effects when it appears. The show doesn't limit its coverage to just those first 48 hours if the investigation continues beyond that time--and many investigations do--but when the clock reaches that point, there's a quick review of what's already happened.)
One of my "favorites" concerned a murder which was apparently intended to keep a witness from testifying about a lesser crime. If someone hadn't actually been killed (or even injured) as a result, the multiple stupidities involved in the crime would've been amusing--by the end, when I realized just how much was stupid, I could just shake my head. Even the original investigation into the lesser crime was inadvertently helped along in the aftermath; even in this one respect alone, the murder backfired.
Well, they did say that Vince Foster committed suicide. Perhaps they committed suicide. Personally, I think they got hit by a runaway meteor.
