Please define blizzard. Blizzard is a well-defined term, and it has nothing to do with how much snow is on the ground.

A “blizzard” is a snow storm with wind. We used to have them all the time without wetting our panties and fainting dead away.

Will his snow removal plan be: wait until spring and it will all melt?

I think it’s a euphemism for *beer, bacon and cigarettes*, just soze the kids will think they can have cereal/breakfast in the morning.
They’re going to be home for a couple of days, so ya know. :(

“Last minute preppers”
The one photo shows a guy holding a gallon of milk in one hand. Perhaps he had a loaf of bread in the other - but why even bother standing in line? You can’t go without milk and bread for a few days?
My wife would always get worried about storms and tell me I needed to run and get milk and bread.
“Why?”
“’Cuz that’s what my mom did before a storm!” (Hmm - New Jersey raised!)
We’ve got a gallon and a half of mile in the fridge and three loaves of bread in the freezer. Tons of crackers and flat bread. Probably 100 gallons of dried milk if we have to resort to that. I think we’re good.
However, the one storm where we were without power for 8 days and tricky icy snowy travel I did need to run to the store. The marshmallows for making ‘som-mores’ were all old and clumped together.
Even took in the elderly lady next door for that one.

I don't think NYC is going to catch it nearly as bad as points north.
Getcha bread and milk.
Must be a french toast festival comin to town.

I was surprised to hear when I came home for lunch that this monster storm has been downgraded from historic to potentially historic.Well, five minutes ago on New England Cable News (NECN), they are saying that there will very likely be MORE than 3 feet of snow in some areas.
The famous Blizzard of '78, which I well remember as the largest snowstorm in my lifetime, was 27.1" in accumulation, according to the chart of Boston's biggest snow storms.

It’s (potentially) not just a question of a couple of days.
First, you have to understand just how SMALL apartments in NYC are. Itsby bitsy tiny! No storage space. Normally not a problem because “everything” is available within a block or so.
THEN there’s the very real issue of roads getting cleared to let in new supplies. If the shelves are picked clean today, they get 3’ of snow overnight it’s going to be more than a couple of days till those shops are restocked.

Don’t you know that’s before recorded history, so say the news type.
