The release of the film American Sniper has led to an increase in threats against Muslims in the US, according to an Arab-American civil rights group.
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) has written to director Clint Eastwood and star Bradley Cooper.
Their film is based on US soldier Chris Kyle's service in Iraq from 2003-09.
The ADC said a "majority of the violent threats we have seen over the past few days are result of how Arab and Muslims are depicted in American Sniper".
The organisation, which describes itself as the largest Arab civil rights organisation in the US, said it had collected "hundreds of violent messages targeting Arab and Muslim Americans from movie-goers", mainly from Facebook and Twitter.
The letter asked Eastwood and Cooper to speak out against such messages "in an effort to reduce the hateful rhetoric".
"Your visibility, influence, and connection to the film would be a tremendous force in drawing attention to and lessening the serious dangers facing the respective communities," ADC president Samer Khalaf wrote.

In that statement you are wrong.
Mexico and the drug cartels, non Islamic, condone and conduct beheadings
It amazing what this movie can do. It’s almost as powerful as global warming.
I would renumber them 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1. Then I would add
e) All of the above.
I don’t believe it. They’re really stretching now to save the template. They don’t know that they’ve jumped the shark with the BS years ago, they’re just a sad joke now.
Funny that the left thinks movies can promote “racist” behavior but not go ape when someone suggests they can promote immoral behavior.
Wonderful speech! Thank you. I wish more people in leadership would have this attitude.

Excellent speech by Mr Gingrich. However, in order to see and recognize the “whole picture”, we need to understand that ALL islam is radical. ALL Muslims are radical. They’re either muslim or not. We also need to eradicate the Muslim brotherhood within our government. And finally, the complacency must stop. Obama has been lying about Islam, his beliefs, and his identity. This needs to be dealt with. Someone with authority needs to step up to the plate and publicly challenge him.
This is a good speech; Newt did a great job. However, without action, it is all talk.
Why must we wait for greater atrocities until we act?
Add to #5: “creating Sharia Law no go zones, which are ALREADY SOVEREIGN ISLAMIC STATES for future ........”
“The release of the film American Sniper has led to an increase in threats against Muslims in the US”
Great, Run it over and over to keep it in front of everyone for a long time.
Let us know when one of those purpoted threats results in a Muslim getting beheaded in America.
It’s also responsible for an increase in global warming.
If true, good news. The more anti-Muslim threats the better. Now if they would only go back to Shitholistan.
Perhaps I should see this film before the theaters showing it become targets.
Good...time is long past due to start playing cowboys and Muslims for real. Time to start dishing it out to the Muslims and Leftist trash that support them. Give them the kind to terror that they find so attractive in return. Muslims say they want a war with Infidels and Western Civilization? OK, but I think you will find that we Infidels can be some very efficient, ruthless, and merciless dispensers of “martyrdom” in Muslim ranks. When the gloves come off, a lot of Muslims will be asking what has fallen on them. JUSTICE has fallen on you, Muslim scum.
And shortly thereafter, the movie was removed.
Of course, it didn’t last as people saved it on their hard drives.
I’m suspecting that the whiners are attempting to try the same tactic with Eastwood’s film.
Shaming people into not seeing it didn’t work.
Perhaps, they think this will.
Well said sir!
Ditto -— I would also like to see it. Doubt that it will be on DISH anytime soon.
