The top film of last Friday (and quite obviously the weekend) was again Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper. The Warner Bros./Time Warner Inc. release earned another $18.325 million yesterday, which was a Friday-to-Friday drop of just 40%. It has now earned $154m domestic, including $14.5m in IMAX alone. That’s also the biggest non-debut-weekend Friday in history for an R-rated film, easily besting the $13m second Friday of The Passion of the Christ as well the over/under $10m second Fridays of The Matrix Reloaded, The Hangover part II, and 300. Among R-rated films that didn’t open on a Friday per-se, it comes its second Friday comes in just under the opening Fridays of The Passion of the Christ ($22.9m), The Hangover part II ($29.2m), and The Matrix Reloaded ($31.3m). If there was any question, it is now clear that, inflation and IMAX/PLF bumps notwithstanding, American Sniper is indeed playing like the (all due respect) second coming of The Passion of the Christ.

The bicoastal liberals don’t understand the appeal of this movie. Plus they don’t know anyone who has seen it. So to them this is an unfathomable mystery as to how this became a big hit movie.
Last Friday, and this Friday both, for ever person who attended Selma, 10 attended American Sniper.
And remember it is racist to go see American Sniper instead of Selma.

The wife and I saw it on Friday. Excellent movie. NO one moved until the very end.

We saw it last week and after the show their was a standing ovation by most of the movie goer’s in the theater.
I say that Entertainment business is not a true business. Here's why:
We saw stories at the end of 2014 about how films weren't making so much money. It wasn't a good year.
I remember "The Passion of the Christ". It made a lot of money. It was very profitable. Did Hollywood start churning out good, respectable movies that would attract Christians? Of course not! Who needs to make money??
Now we have a patriotic movie honoring American soldiers. Will Hollywood make more of those movies? Of course not!! They aren't in the business to make money, you know!
I've seen the movie. Superior movie making. On a 4-star scale I'd give it FIVE stars.
It's destined to become an American "Classic."
ASDS (American Sniper Derangement Syndrome) is taking its toll on the looney left. The great sucess of this film has them on suicide watch.
Selma earned a whopping $1.49 million yesterday, much from students who were bussed in to see the movie. In other words, people are being paid to see Selma.
It's a great movie and should keep the Liberal's heads exploding like the Muslim ones did for a long time.
I saw it yesterday. It was excellent. The smear campaign is all over Facebook now too. I laugh and tell them Chris Kyle was a hero and they’re liberal weenies.
Nothing on Annie or Selma.

Why don’t they just keep spitting out Seth Rogan movies about flatulence? It seems to work for them.
