Yes, Clint Eastwoods biopic of the late Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history with 160 confirmed kills over four tours of Iraq, has captured the fascination of the American public, earning a whopping $135 million-plus in less than two weeks of wide release, as well as 6 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Bradley Coopers committed portrayal of Kyle.
Its also proved divisive, with Hollywood stars like Seth Rogen and Michael Moore making colorful comments about the film (both have since apologized, claiming their statements were taken out of context), and critics being split on whether the film is jingoistic, anti-war, or both.
Enter provocateur Bill Maher.
On Fridays episode of his HBO series Real Time with Bill Maher, the outspoken satirist pondered whether Kyle was a hero or not, and revealed hes decidedly anti-American Sniper.

I came from an area where most of the guy's,in my town served in either the Marines or Army. Looking back I am surprised how many of them, after a short period of lunacy, reintegrated into normal life and are now living old and fat in Fla.
I think part of it was that so many served there was an informal support group of people with similar experiences to talk to, similar to WW2 Vets.
Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World.
Sir Edward Creasy.
1851.
I like to repeat this story of gentlemanly behaviour at the time. British Major Ackland was wounded and in American hands. His wife, Lady Ackland insisted the British commander Gentleman Johnny Burgoyne that he give her a letter to American General Gates for safe conduct. She resisted advice and proceeded the American lines.
The sentry could not believe his ears and called for back up. He was superstitious and the clear tones of a woman calling out spooked him. Finally they held fire and she was conducted to her husband. All aid was given to him.
True this has nothing to do with the post, for which I ask largesse. To recall the incident of the death of General Fraser, the account stated that two American officers viewed Fraser and his damaging directions. One said "That man must die". Such is war and now history.
As for Maher, I will not waste invective on such a man. Another ramble by me.
Collateral damage, or whatever you want to call it: every single drop of innocent blood that has been shed in Iraq, Afghanistan, or anywhere else in the Islamic world, is on the hands of the extremists— whether it was Saddam's former thugs, or the blind demonic zealots who want to impose totalitarian theocracy on their Muslim brethren all over the globe.
Those are the "savages" Kyle was referring to, not peaceable Iraqis.
The propaganda of the hysterical Left is absurdly clumsy. People like Bill Maher and his ilk alienate two people for every one they succeed in deceiving.
The people Kyle was talking about were and are savages, every last one of them, and everyone with a brain knows exactly who he meant when he said that. Kyle didn't hate average Iraqis, the vast majority of whom are decent human beings.
Anyone who has seen the movie would know this.
Remember the scene where Kyle had just eliminated an adult who had just tried to use an RPG launcher?
After Kyle took out the adult, a young boy picked up the launcher and, for a few moments, considered using it. Kyle had the kid in his crosshairs and was praying out loud that the kid would put the damn thing down.
Indeed, in the scene, Kyle waited too long: he gave the kid enough time to fire the RPG! He gave that kid every merciful moment he deserved, and more. Then, when the kid finally decided to put the weapon down without using it, Kyle practically broke down with relief that he didn't have to shoot him.
The realities of the war over their were much more nuanced than the infantile cut-and-dried propaganda that Maher and his Leftist ilk would have us believe.
Anyone who takes the time to watch the film or read the book would instantly know that.
Thus, the divisive, transparent, agenda-driven spin of the Left is fooling very few people. In fact, the Left makes itself look more and more ignorant with each hysterical lie they try to spread...
If he is against using military snipers to kill the terrorists, would he prefer that we kill the terrorists by bombing entire villages instead?
Bill Maher.. another AMERICAN HATING PLICK heard from.
FAE is much more encompassing.
Why don’t we just ignore them. They’ve got an audience you can measure with two hands. We’re keeping them alive by talking about them.
I would not urinate in Mahers sphincter, if his intestines were on fire!
