Palm Beach billionaire Jeff Greene, who made his fortune by betting against homeowners in the mortgage and credit crisis, has been mouthing off about the lifestyle that the rest of us enjoy.
He thinks its too much even though he owns Americas most expensive single-family house!
The former U.S. Senate wannabe took advantage of his presence at the Davos World Economic Forum in Switzerland to tell a worldwide audience via Bloomberg News that we, the common people, need to have fewer things.
... Greene is also known in these parts for making contractors who work on his $36 million-, 23,000-square-foot mansion in Palm Beach wait for months to get paid!
[His] mansion in Beverly Hills is on the market for $195 million, this countrys most expensive house.
Maybe it should have 22 bathrooms instead of 23. And that bowling alley? Just couldnt live without it, right?

Democrats and the doctrine of low expectations...
Wow, how civilization will benefit from this mindset. /s
Is this the same putz who bought a pardon from that greasy grifter-in-chief Clinton?
i thought mitch rabb shot greene
Ha Ha! Great headline.
If I became very rich I would do everything possible to make sure that as few people knew about my money as possible. It would pretty much require living modestly.
When Ted Nugent lived near me in Michigan he lived pretty modestly. Just a typical split level or ranch style house outside of town. No high wall or gate. The only indication that anyone of means live there was the nice paved driveway.
We’re evil because we have had income and have spent it to live well.
THIS HAS TO STOP!!!!
Democrats, it’s a mental disease.
There's a real simple way to cut your consumption way back, Jeff, and it sounds like you might deserve it. ;-)
Actually he’s correct.
America is bankrupt.
We just haven’t had to face the reality yet because the govt and Fed are somehow able to continue the charade of borrowing and bogus low interest rates.
I think at least part of the answer to the mystery lies in the fact that they own the printing presses.
Which party? Wait, don't tell me...
HIS HOUSE, which costs $195 million.
His vineyard is in Napa, right?
Nope! That’s in Beverly Hills!
He has over 3 homes, btw, and a huge jet and a 150-foot yacht.
Quite an ascetic monk, eh?
Lifestyles of the rich and the famous
They’re always complainin’
Always complainin’
If money is such a problem
Well, they got mansions
Think we should rob them

His liberal affinity aside, I agree with his sentiment reported here: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2015-01-21/billionaire-greene-goes-long-on-u-s-while-bemoaning-jobs-crisis.html
“The 60-year-old founder of Palm Beach, Florida-based Florida Sunshine Investments said his biggest fund was up more than 20 percent last year with bets on Apple Inc. (AAPL), Google Inc. (GOOGL), bank stocks and mortgage-backed securities.
Im remarkably long for my level of pessimism, he said. Our economy is in deep trouble. We need to be honest with ourselves. Weve had a realistic level of job destruction, and those jobs arent coming back.
I’d want to stay as private as practical even though I wouldn’t likely “live modestly”
I would however NOT knock anyone that had less than me, especially those of modest means who do the right things and make the right life choices.
I might have struck it rich (wishful thinking) but I would never forget my humble roots
Greene’s a douche to the nth degree
