MESA, Ariz. -- An employee at a QuikTrip convenience store was shot and killed early Thursday morning, according to police.
The QT is located at Stapley Drive and Broadway Road.
The shooting was followed by a high-speed chase for about 25 miles from Mesa to southwest Phoenix as police tried to capture the shooting suspect. They said a witness had flagged them down at the QT.
Apolinar Altamirano, 29, of Mesa, was taken into custody at 19th Avenue and Buckeye Road.
Police said Altamirano shot the clerk because he didn't think he was getting his cigarettes fast enough.
Altamirano reportedly dumped change on the counter, and the clerk told Altamirano he needed a moment to count the money.
"As the clerk is saying that, our suspect produces a handgun," said Mesa Police Det. Steve Berry. "The clerk, obviously seeing the handgun, does grab a package of cigarettes and hands them directly to the suspect, at which point the suspect just shoots our victim."

News reports aren’t saying, but this morning Sheriff Paul Babeu tweeted out that Altamirano is in the country illegally and has a criminal record.

Watch the outrage begin. Not over the senseless murder, no.
But over that bigoted sheriff calling that person “illegal” and for disclosing his criminal history.
Watch for Babeu to be forced to resign. Or publically apologize for his racism.

Yeah, for the Mexican Government intervening to prevent AZ from executing this piece of crap! These are the times when you have to hope that the perp does something to get himself shot to death by the cops. Offing this guy will take years and cost millions.
I'd be okay with dropping him through the roof of the nearest Mexican consulate, too.

Culture is determinative.
That killer was an illegal alien and was a Latrino.
Latrino culture is deeply committed to “machismo”, which actually means “male egotism”. When a Latrino feels he is not properly respected, his “machismo” demands he respond to the insult and the response is often violent.
That clerk should have made serving that Latrino his top priority, but by not serving said Latrino as fast as the Latrino wanted, he violated “machismo”.
There are reasons Latrinos must not be allowed into America and these reasons, tolerance of extreme violence, low value of human life, no acceptance of security in person or property, ad nauseam, are on display in this case.
The entire Latrino culture is a mix of Stone Age Aztec/Inca/whatever and Spanish 1500’s culture. The cannibalism of those Stone Age cultures speaks for that cultural component's possible acceptance into America(La Raza, anyone?) and 1500’s Spain was just out from 700 years of Muslim Slavery!
During that 700 years, too much of Islam became part of Spanish culture. Bribery/corruption is a good example. “Baaksheesh” is Arabic for bribery. In Spanish is “La Mordita”..Come to Miami to see what allowing Latrino culture into an American society can cause - try to get a building permit without paying a Latrino “Expediter” to ‘obtain’ your permit.
There is a reason the Miami area called “Hialeah” is locally pronounced “Highly Illegal”.
