A shoulder holster would suit, but a full size 1911 needs more than a long sleeve cover garment when you put it in one of those rigs.
Best option is to unholster into a handy fixed on-board holster getting in, and back into the waistband getting out.
Involves more weapons handling (not a terrible problem) and I haven't found a good solution in my Nissan Frontier. The console box is too small which leaves the obvious glove box (not so handy).

Teen charged with murder in botched attempted robbery
Police say a teenager is facing murder charges after another teen was shot and killed
while they were attempting to rob a man at a Sonic drive-thru. The victim shot one of the
teens, killing him.
DeKalb County police said the victim was placing his order in the drive-thru lane at the
Sonic on Flat Shoals Sunday night when a group of men approached his car with guns
and demanded money. The victim had his own gun and was able to shoot one of the suspects,
who fell to the ground.
Authorities said the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Kenneth Brayboy, died hours
after the shooting.
Police later arrested 17-year-old Desmond McKnight and charged him with murder,
criminal attempt armed robbery and tampering with evidence.
The 23-year-old attempted robbery victim is not facing any charges.
Another argument for “CONCEAL CARRY”. Every time I hear a LIBERAL, SOCIALIST and COMMUNIST cry out for gun control, I would wish that this will happen to them. Here’s a question for all of them; “WHAT WILL THEY DO, IF THEY WERE CONFRONTED BY A GROUP OF CRIMINALS, WANTING THEIR MONEY”? Or better yet, “IF THEY WERE CONFRONTED WITH A GROUP OF CRIMINALS BREAKING IN TO THEIR HOMES”? Will they just say; “CAN’T WE ALL GET ALONG”?
No need to guess. The media won’t mention their race, so we know they are black.
I just use a towel in the passenger seat with a fast food bag on top of it. Place the weapon in or under the towel.
Obviously this is the work of a lone wolfpack. This wolfpack does not represent the overwhelmingly majority of thugs who are peace-loving members of society. These activists deserve our empathy and understanding.
