Washington (CNN)Mark it down as a rare win for House GOP moderates. After scrambling into the evening on Wednesday, House Republican leaders decided to scrap a vote on a controversial anti-abortion measure scheduled to coincide with an annual gathering of anti-abortion advocates on Thursday because they couldn't round up enough support.

You can hardly blame people for letting off steam and being more than just fed up....
What’s alarming to me is still there is no representation of the epople to stop this trajection we’re on...ad I’m not convinced there’s a “power” avaiable to stop it now.....
Maybe we need a Margret Thatcher since then men don’t seem to be getting the job done.
Anyone have a list of the GOP women who objected, or a list of all the female GOP Representatives and Senators?
“Now maybe, you could explain to me why the dems did nothing about firearms but break wind from 2009 through 2015? “
I guess you weren’t around in 2013 or you’d know about that Senate bill that would have passed, had REPUBLICANS not stopped it.
Maybe it’s worth subscribing to a newspaper or something.
“You can hardly blame people for letting off steam and being more than just fed up....”
I hear you - but since anyone can claim to be anything they want, there is a fine line between letting off steam and trolling. In my book when I hear phrases like: “There’s no difference between the parties” and “There’s no reason to vote, they’re all the same anyway”. Since there CLEARLY are differences...but if I were Democrat operatives, I would definitely be posting exactly what I listed here.
And there CLEARLY are differences between the parties, at least on some issues - including whether we can keep our guns - or end up like Australia, where everyone turns their weapons in that’s the end of it...for good.
All it takes a few more terms of Dem presidents (to fully pack the Courts) and a Dem Congress and the Second Amendment (and likely the others too), will simply vanish - even if the words live on.
“...Buy more bullets....easier on the liver....”
Yeah, but they’re HELL on the colon... Brr...
Elections don’t fix anything because the GOP nominates bad candidates ad nauseum and will do so in 2016 too.
That is the same kind of thought process that alcoholics have, sir. 'Next time it will be different! It will be better...'
The simple step of a courageous individual is not to take part in the lie. "One word of truth outweighs the world. ― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Stay brave, my FRiends.
Sadly... you are correct...
I say this as a woman: liberal women have to stop being such fragile little flowers. God forbid they should have to take responsibility for (a) reporting a rape or (b) the consequences of unprotected sex. The only responsibility they may take is for breaking a Laboutin stiletto.
” Simply assume duplicity, cowardice, and betrayal at every turn and you wont be too far off.”
Not far off......spot on!
I thnk fed up is more the case. Trolls tend to come out shortly before elections.
Speaking for myself, I was fed up 10 years ago. That has since become indifference seasoned with gallows humor. With the exception of a few hot button topics like infanticide and gun control.
What if you are a social conservative but relatively liberal fiscally? Might you switch your vote to the Democrats since the GOP is on record supporting baby murder?
Understand...I’m not expecting people to preaching on this site as to why Boener is so great - I only draw the line at the major generalizations - such as there is NO DIFFERENCE between the parties - there clearly is, or there would not be a SINGLE FReeper still legally owning a gun in this country. Just an example...but yes, when you have this President and Boener teaming up to undercut Cruz, that’s pretty damn sad too.
“With this observation, you somehow conclude that the solution is more elections, just with more of the proper brand of politi-ho getting sent to DC.”
If your answer is violent revolution, count me out. I STILL prefer to win at the ballot box.
Republicans won about 80% of the WHITE VOTE in the South last year (along with nearly half of the Hispanics), which is why they swept every office. Instead of taking up arms, or sitting at home, or joining Ron Paul, maybe try to spread that 80 PERCENT number north. If we do, WE WIN, and that certainly can meaning winning with Ted Cruz.
How about every time I taunted the Palinistas and got away with it?
Most people aren’t proud of being an asshole. Just liberals. Which makes perfect sense.
Yeah, but I like Sarah too... so I guess I’m a “Palinista” as well.
I hate the GOP almost as much as their democrat allies and now vote only for moral minded candidates; I hope more conservatives will. We probably cannot beat them, but if every conservative among them went third party and refused to vote with the GOP rinos, they would have enough membership to shanghai the rino liberals who hate conservatives and love leftist liberals.
Plus, I am pretty interested in finding out who the rapist is, and administering justice accordingly.
