Any society that defines poverty as the lowest quintile of incomes will always have a twenty percent poverty level.
“Allende said the same thing in Chile.”
But THAT situation was resolved definitively. Have we also reached a “Pinochet moment?” It’s an exciting idea to contemplate.
Furthermore, I accept an economy where lots of people (deservedly so) FAIL spectacularly — without having the government intervene with “income support” or other kinds of charity that I pay for.
People have no incentive to work hard if they know the nanny state will make sure they eat no matter what happens.
Nah. Lets just accept the one where no one works and everyone lives off the tit of mother government. Yeah, that sounds WAY better.
Thank you for continuing to do it!
What few? Oh - you mean those of us who actually get up in the morning AND GO TO WORK?
Libtards inflate the money supply to try to stimulate the economy, which leads to increased amount and rate of profit for the the rich, businessmen, and capitalists in the long run, and then they complain that the rich, businessmen, and capitalists are doing well. Just another case of libtard perversity of result.
Orr maybe a better question would be: “should we accept a system like the NFL or the NBA that has ONLY one champion?”>p?
Obozo is little more than a FOOL who is praised by those who have little or no insight
Talk about people doing spectacularly well....wait and see the take the Obamas get from POTUS pardons in Jan 2017.
I will never achieve the greatness of many in the top of their fields, and so yes, I will never be their equal in the ways we all want to reward the best among us, and therefore yes we do accept a world where not everyone will do spectacularly well. Oh, but I also have no envy of anyone else and doing just as well as I can is always enough for me.
Nice summary of how most of us I think feel about our life and achievements compared to those Few who made Spectacular achievements.
your summary statement: “I will never achieve the greatness of many in the top of their fields, and so yes, I will never be their equal in the ways we all want to reward the best among us, and therefore yes we do accept a world where not everyone will do spectacularly well. Oh, but I also have no envy of anyone else and doing just as well as I can is always enough for me.”
