A Lithia man has been charged after he tackled another man Tuesday who had a handgun in a holster -- and a permit to carry -- at a Walmart.
Foster had seen Daniels getting out of his vehicle in the lot with handgun, under his coat and in a holster. Foster followed him into the store and then attacked the Daniels, the sheriff's office said.

Idiot..................
LOL!!!
It certainly would have been a justified shooting.
You can make all of the excuses you want, but the last guy that let his show in a Walmart was shot dead by an over zealous security guard.
Being dead right is not my idea of personal security.
In many states both open and concealed carry are allowed. While keeping it concealed is always a good idea, it is not always illegal to let it show, especially momentarily while entering and exiting a car.
I am hoping the perp gets a long sentence, and is permanently barred from owning weapons.

In almost all other crimes, the media will shield the victim's name. Why aren't they doing it in this instance? A little bias against weapons, anyone?
In the fruits and nuts aisle.
A wanna be action hero...
Ya, then instead of the occasional mistaken idiots tackling you, you’ll have the punks dog piling on you.
He can face up to a year in prison for that, and a significant fine.
Likely Florida will transition to open carry but until then if you cannot conceal you better be prepared for hero-idots like this guy causing havoc.
“tackles him with a gun”
The gun must’ve had a heck of a grip.
“In many states both open and concealed carry are allowed.”
Not Florida
Mr. Foster may not have known the law in his state regarding intentional “brandishing” and “accidental exposure” (if such distinction exists), and I have not researched the local ordinances to know, either...
In Colorado where I reside, the accidental, incidental exposure of a “concealed” firearm when for example exiting vehicle or reaching for an item high on a shelf is not an offense...It is, however IMHO something to carefully guard against when carrying, exactly because of idiots like Foster...
Foster is lucky he did not receive a pair to the body from close contact, a backup blade in the ribs, or a slash to his arm or leg...Mr. Daniels was not in a position to know Mr. Foster’s intentions, and was probably within his rights to defend himself with deadly force, especially if truly in a “choke hold”...
Taken at face value only based on the reports so far, sounds like the cops did the right thing arresting Foster...
People like this idiot Foster are everywhere and multiplying rapidly...Concealed means concealed; don’t get casual about carry, and remain/be 100% covert at all times...
Good lesson for us CCW people...
He’ll just get a suspended sentence or community service, most likely, if the other guy even presses charges...............
Indeed, I’ve seen a few dipsticks out there who don’t know what CC means.
It’s gotten several people killed too in the past.
I wonder if he would have been charged had he done just that.
My brother-in-law cop says he would have, but he’s in TX.
In Virginia, both an open and concealed carry state, incidental exposure or printing are not crimes, as they are in some more regressive states.
I prefer concealed, but people who open carry don’t bother me and don’t seem to bother others around them (except for the new immigrants from MD, NJ, NY, etc.).
I'm not sure if I'd press charges or not. I am sure that I'd take my good ol' time deciding. That stupid SOB needs to sweat a bit. At least. Stupidity, especially epic stupidity of that magnitude, should hurt.
In MI every non-felon can open carry, no permits required.
Concealed carry is only allowed with a permit.
Those with a permit can only open carry in schools, but not concealed carry.
It seems MI likes citizens to open carry.
