Nearly 50 per cent of Japanese adults 'not having sex'

Nearly 50 per cent of all Japanese adults are not having sex, according to a study, dealing a new blow to government efforts to halt the sliding birth rate.

The report, conducted by the Japan Family Planning Association, determined that 49.3 per cent of the 3,000 people interviewed had not had sex in the previous month.

Of the men interviewed, 48.3 said they had not had sex for a month, while 50.1 per cent of women had abstained. Both figures were up about 5 percentage points from the previous study, conducted in 2012. Asked why they were not having sex, 21.3 per cent of the married men claimed they were too fatigued after work while 15.7 per cent replied that they were no longer interested in sex after their wives gave birth.

Among the women, 23.8 per cent said sex was "bothersome" and 17.8 blamed being tired from work.

“Nearly 50 per cent of Japanese adults ‘not having sex’

Nearly 50% of Brits don’t have a brain, believing in global warming and allowing jihadists to overrun their country.

Let’s take bets on which country will go into the crapper first.

Ok I’ll do it. “I’m turning Japanese I think I am turning Japanese I really think so”....<<<<

LOL, I’d forgotten about that one! In today’s world, people who are not even Japanese would be offended and demand it be taken off the air. Not to mention Ray Stevens and “Ahab the Arab”.

I see a new future for Al Sharpton in Japan...Viagra Salesman

He could get Anthony Weiner to help him out with that.

That’s weird. When I went to Japan in 1980, pretty much every woman I met wanted to have sex.

One word: urbanization. Birthrates have always taken a dive with migrations to the cities.

Dang.

I stared at that photo for quite a while before I realized I was staring at it.

Having realized it, I continued staring, since it was doing nice things to various sections of my brain.

I tried to find something wrong with it. Conclusion: There is nothing whatsoever wrong with that photo, or the girl.

Except that she's not here.

Dang. Just..... dang.

Agree that birthrates have fallen around the world, but they are still above replace levels in places where women haven’t yet “seen the light”. There certainly are other factors, with a big one being that a couple in many poor countries only needs 4 children to be sure that 3 make it to adulthood, whereas it used to be 6 children. And there probably is a natural limit where a place is simply “filled up”, but when you have a population that isn’t even close to replacement levels, there is more going on, and the timing of the “women’s liberation” movements in those countries tend to lead in that direction.

Wow, that was a great link!

I just spent an hour reading it, all the comments, and a few links.

It was very informative and explained a lot about the quirks and defects of Japanese culture.
