Iran's revolutionary guards' corps (IRGC) has confirmed that one of its senior commanders, general Mohammad Ali Allahdadi (or Dadi), has been killed by an Israeli strike on the Syrian sector of the Golan Heights.
The air raid, which also killed six members of Lebanon's Shiite Hezbollah group, occurred near Syria's Quneitra border crossing with Israel.
"Following the Zionist aggressions against the resistance in Syria, General Mohammad Allahdadi, a former commander of the Sarollah Brigade of the Revolutionary Guard, was martyred along with Jihad Moughniyah and three others in the same car," the Dana news website said.
The senior commander was recently reassigned to support Shiite militias in Syria fighting with President Bashar al-Assad against the opposition to the regime.
The Israeli strike killed a commander from Hezbollah, Abu Issa, and the son of the group's late military leader Imad Mughniyeh.
It came just days after Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said frequent Israeli strikes in Syria were tantamount to a major aggression which called for a strong response.
The Hezbollah-run al-Manar news channel said the Israeli attack suggested "the enemy has gone crazy because of Hezbollah's growing capabilities and it could lead to a costly adventure that will put the Middle East at stake".
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif condemned the attack "of the Zionist regime as well as all acts of terror".
Not fair! Waaaaa!

Lord Foul is deeply saddened, and apologizes for America, what America had nothing to do with it? Lord Foul still apologizes for the excellence of America and is deeply saddened that a freedom fighter was assassinated by ruthless Israelis.
Allahdadi is now allahdeadi.
And Iranian General Allahdadi was in the Golan Heights because....?

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
one down. Good!
The general was doing what is called a “terrain walk”, which is done by a senior commander prior to planning a battle on that terrain. It gives the commander a real grasp of the reality on the ground.
The Israelis likely had a little intelligence, and the opportunity was too good to pass up.
Them Persians is losing generals left and right. And the US had nothing to do about it.
Why would they announce this Iranian was killed? Seems like that’s something they’d want to hush up.
They’re trying to gin up a war with Israel in order to distract from the war against Assad. They’re figuring that the one thing that unites all the sides in the Syrian civil war is hatred of Israel.
The Israelis are out in left field on this one. They are fighting in the side of the Sunnis. Isis and the Al Qeida rebels benefit from every attack on Syria Israel makes.
If they weaken the Syrian government to the point that the rebels win, do they really believe they will be in a better position?
Not sure I get this Israeli/Sunni alliance.
Maybe that’s their thinking.
Good post. It sure does appear Israel’s out there helping ISIS.
I don’t get it either.
Additionally, he and the others were planning to use the positions as part of a two front attack on Israel - and, as he learned, that is not permitted.
