Filming was underway when actor and model George Gregory Plitt Jr. was fatally struck Saturday afternoon by a Metrolink train, according to Burbank police.
Police have ruled out suicide as a cause of the crash, which occurred just after 4 p.m. on Saturday. Witnesses told police that there was filming underway when the 37-year-old was hit by a southbound train on the tracks just north of the Burbank Metrolink Station, Burbank police Sgt. Chris Canales said.

The title of this article makes it sound as if the train got off its tracks and somehow magically entered a film studio.

Uhh, you do realize that Superman is a made up character and if he actually did any of that stuff he’d.....nevermind.

I was wondering about the crew as well.
Maybe he was doing it Les Stroud style and doing his filming and editing himself. He might have set up his shot believing the train would come by right next to him and didn’t bother to make sure.

I have trouble understanding how someone who is conscious gets hit and killed by a train. It's not like they sneak up on you.

I had never heard of this guy and wouldn’t have been able to identify him even if my life depended on it...
I guess being a “fitness model” and stupid enough to get hit by a train is what the LSM deems “news”

We have no idea who was filming or why, Canales said. I'm sorry he was killed but filming anything on an active train track is sheer stupidity. Its like filming in the middle of the freeway and then being surprised that you got hit by a car.

It is blatantly obvious how dangerous trains can be. We need new train-control laws, stat!
