I like it, with new HD technology, I look at some of the old shows and in SD it doesn't do justice to the stories.
Aren’t those two a little, I don’t know, long in the tooth by now?
The Ancient Aliens guy can serve as the boss of Mulder and Scully
I think Gillian is doing a lot of Masterpiece theatre she was on one of Bleak house remake
Also I think two of the cast members are dead I know Well maincured man is dead
Cigarette smoking man is still alive I think
I think its time for some original ideas.
The X-Files? No!!! Because they went through so much conspiracy theory and sci-do material in the original X-Files that there is hardly anything new to do with it. Maybe if they could make a movie set in 2012 about the alien wars with the original cast that would be cool, but I wouldnt see a need to watch a reboot. Plus, I fear that they wouldnt capture the scare factor as well.A better idea would be to take the conspiracy-side of things in X-files, add in the creepy big-brother technology/overtones of Person of Interest, extract out the meat of the real-life conspiracies of the IRS's political targeting, the NSA and DEA's domestic spying, the FDA and EPA's agenda-/money-based regulatory systems, the "big business" interests (prison-industrial, military-industrial, and medical-/agricultural-industrial complexes), and Agenda 21 all together as your setting that could make for some damn scary psychological shit.
One of my favorite shows of all time. Just think of what they will be able to do with 2010’s CGI, versus what they had in the ‘90’s.
IMHO, remakes are awful when they try too hard to follow the original. At most, give the original actors cameo roles as minor characters. The original series went really far downhill after the first seasons. I agree, I love watching the series on Netflix right now. Dated, but still bizarre and creepy, like that mutant dude who squeezes into your house’s ventilation to kill you.
I still like watching old black and white episodes of The Twilight Zone.
I loved the original series BUT IMHO.. if they bring back another X Files... they should have younger actors to play Mulder and Scully. Part of the plot was that young FBI agents went up against the “older, more seniored” agents from the FBI/CIA/NSA/etc.. I just think something would be tired appearing to have middle aged actors still portraying themselves.
She isn’t in her 20s anymore, she will be turning 47.
I’m for it, as long as they don’t go all goofy sci-fi like they did in the last few seasons of the old show. There are some amazing writers out there today, and TV storytelling is far better than it has ever been.
And keep their relationship platonic!
Admittedly I also want new shows because the old ones look horribly dated. I cant even look at the opening theme without cringing because it looks soooooooo 1991.
Think it would be great, my favorite TV show of the last 30 years and in fact, it was the last show on Network TV that I faithfully watched.
YESSSSS!
In other words, we’ve run out of new ideas, we lost a fortune on “Utopia,” and we desperately need a hit.
This show had become really awful by the end to its run. The writer had no more ideas and all the episodes ended in disappointment. It was a constant search for something that in the end brought them no closer to finding anything.
It was kind of neat for the first few years. But it needed a grand conclusion that it never obtained. Bringing it back with a bunch of aged cast members would just make it worse than ever in my opinion.
I liked the X-Files and a reboot might be interesting, but I feel pretty icky about Duchovny after watching part of an episode of Californication a while back. What a creepy guy.
Art Bell too I hope!!!
At last The X-Files, a television cult classic may return. FOX producers are talking about David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reviving the roles of FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. If all goes well, hardcore fans await with joy. There are things which fans want to see return to the television series and some aspects that need to be cast off.Bring back:1. The unusual investigations which made X-Files famous. Investigations where the mundane turned into the fantastical.
2. The playful intellectual banter between Mulder and Scully. Their friendship and loyalty made the series.
3. The Lone Gunmen: John Fitzgerald Byers (Bruce Harwood), Melvin Frohike (Tom Braidwood), and Richard Langly (Dean Haglund). These men were the perfect "conspiracy believing" minions. It is regrettable their spin-off, The Lone Gunmen was cancelled.
4. Episodes involving cyber cases. Monsters on the Internet is reasonably believable.
5. Episodes which cross virtual reality with video games. Who doesnt want to see Mulder and Scully in virtual reality versions of video games like Halo, Left for Dead, or maybe Skyrim?
Dont bring back:
1. The convoluted storyline of Scullys mysterious alien love child being a star child savior. Anyone interested in that particular storyline should watch V: The Final Battle.
2. Mulder being constantly abducted because David Duchovny appeared to had better things to do. Maybe Duchovny isnt too busy anymore.
3. A romantic relationship between Mulder and Scully. Their television relationship is akin to a brother and sister. Please leave it that way. The alternative is gross.
