Since Congress returned to session in the past week, six separate anti-abortion bills have been introduced in the House and Senate. These bills would do a number of things, including instilling a nationwide 20-week abortion ban and blocking funding to Planned Parenthood.
These bills would join the 231 other restrictions that have been placed on abortion on the state level in the past four years. Now, over half of the U.S. female population live in abortion-hostile states.
The attacks waged on womens health have gotten out of hand, Jamila Perritt, MD, medical director of Planned Parenthood of Metro Washington, D.C., said at a press conference this week. Perritt said that while many of the recently introduced legislative measures claim to protect women they instead endanger women by reinforcing non-scientific misinformation and proposing measures that would make abortion illegal and thus unsafe.
Accessibility and legal status of abortion remain at risk as a result of some scary myths out there that are accepted as fact and oftentimes used to back legislation to reduce, restrict, or limit abortion access, said Hal Lawrence, MD, executive vice president and CEO of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, in the press conference. I want each woman to be able to make the decision thats right for her, Lawrence said, and not be influenced by rumors that have been disproven by science.
Heres a breakdown of the six bills introduced by Congress in these early days of 2015 and what they mean for womens health care.
Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 36) -It institutes a 20 week abortion ban on the basis the unborn are able to feel pain.
Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act (PRENDA) of 2013 (S. 48) -This bill would prohibit discrimination against the unborn child on the basis of sex or gender, and for other purposes.
Right of Refusal within the Public Health Service Act (S.50) -"Refusal bills, such as the just-introduced S. 50, allow health care professionals to refuse to provide an abortion to a woman based on their personal religious beliefs, even in an emergency. The bill applies not just to doctors and nurses, but also pharmacists and non-medical personnel including insurance company representatives and company-based human resources employees."
S. 51 and H.R. 217 Title X Amendments -These bills prevent public funding for women's health care to go to places that provide abortions.
Federal Pregnant Women Health and Safety Act (S. 78) -This requires abortion doctors to have admitting privileges into a hospital.
A few comments regarding the article:

Yes, because they can claim to be all about science while calling the unborn child a "nonperson."

It truly terrifies me that this guy his the excecutive vice president and CEO of the ACOG. This is a group of doctors who deliver babies, and he thinks it is ok to kill these babies in the womb. Later in the article he makes an appearance again arguing against abortion doctors needing admitting privileges into a hospital.
I'm glad to know our elected reps are doing something right.
You need to provide a link to the source article.

The left is guilty of both murder of innocent children and makes money off of American taxpayers while pretending to be victims themselves by gender identity or racism. The victimizers of the left are evil people and will be dealt with when God judges all men by Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
I know; I actually posted again because I forgot, but the duplicate was deleted as opposed to this one.
It was from Yahoo, and this is the link:

“proposing measures that would make abortion illegal and thus unsafe.”
Not unsafe to the unborns.
As opposed to the real attacks on female babies in the womb?
Says they’re blocking funding to planned parenthood....
Ha! That’ll never happen...you’d be taking away the low incomers from their only source of birth control...abortion.
Thanks
They fight this, and claim to be FOR a woman's health and protection? Riigght. It's because they know abortion "doctors" are, by and large, the same scuzzy back-alley butchers of yesteryear.
What really scares me is that Hal Lawrence, MD, executive vice president and CEO of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology is opposed to this. Frightening.
I am so confused LOL!
WHY do Jewish wimmen like this writer want BABIES KILLED???? ALL JEWS should be AGAINST this, but they seem to be the biggest supporters!!! DISGUSTING.
Congress should be doing everything in its power to shut down an out of control Executive Branch. I mean, totally gut it. Secure our borders, enforce existing laws, create real economic growth and empower American businesses. CUT WELFARE AND ENTITLEMENTS AND LOWER TAXES.
Yet here are 6 anti-abortion bills that are going NOWHERE.
If my congresscritters had cosponsored these 6 bills, and disregarded the perilous state of things with the Republic, I would be furious.
what could be more important than the saving of innocent human life? Why does some form of this argument always get trotted out whenever there is an attempt to correct some egregious moral wrong?
There are six things which the LORD hates,
Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:
Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, nd hands that shed innocent blood,A heart that devises wicked plans,Feet that run rapidly to evil . . .
When I think think about the innocent time of my childhood, I know we started down this path of evil when we legalized abortion. If we want to fix things, we had better start with that! As a matter of fact, part of the reason our “betters” are permitting this massive immigration is because we have slaughtered our own children, and our native population cannot support social security, etc.
Frankly, NOTHING is more important than ending this awful awful wrong!
Congress making sense, that would be a first.
Oh okay LOL!
I keep eye on this story see if any update LOL!
The primary reason “we are losing our republic” is perfectly illustrated by your post here ....
When protecting the sacredness of human life, INNOCENT human life - and especially the lives of the defenseless, those who are the most vulnerable and least able to protect themselves - becomes less important than economic or political considerations ... Then the edifice that the state rests upon is but a foundation of shifting sand, and upon such ground NOTHING can long survive in perpetuity.
You have forgotten the basic premise upon which our Republic was first laid - that bold statement of “radical thinking,” proposed in our Declaration of Independence, the Raison d’être for all the sacrifices made to bring forth this nation:
LIFE, LIBERTY, and the pursuit of happiness.
Note the order in which the statement of purpose is written. The protection of human life must come first, because without such understanding there can be no liberty and no happiness. Is the logic really so difficult to grasp?
