Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Saturday evening released a strong statement of condemnation on the International Criminal Court (ICC) decision last Friday, in which it chose to launch a preliminary probe into charges of Israeli "war crimes."
Israel rejects the absurd decision of the ICC prosecutor," said Netanyahu. "Its absurd for the ICC to ignore international law and agreements, under which the Palestinians don't have a state and can only get one through direct negotiations with Israel."
Reportedly Netanyahu spoke with US Secretary of State John Kerry on Saturday night, requesting American support in preventing the ICC action against Israel.
The Palestinian Authority (PA), despite the move being a breach of the 1993 Oslo Accords that created it, applied to join the ICC this month to sue Israel. That move came despite the PA not being a "state" by any criterion - such as having internationally recognized borders.
Netanyahu pressed this point, saying "the rules of the ICC are clear: no state, no standing, no case."
"Its absurd for the ICC to go after Israel, which upholds the highest standards of international law. Our actions are subject to the constant and careful review of Israel's world-renowned and utterly independent legal system," he added.
The investigation is to include accusations from incidents during Hamas's most recent terror war against Israel last summer, the third such war.
"This decision is even more preposterous given that Israel is legitimately defending itself against Palestinian terrorists who routinely commit multiple war crimes. They deliberately fire thousands of rockets at our civilians, while hiding behind Palestinian civilians whom they use a human shield," commented the prime minister.

Go Bibi.
Discovery could be a bitch for Palestinians.
I thought Bibo would tell them to pound sand. I’m proud of him for doing it.
Maybe he can get James Taylor to sing to the ICC..
*rolls eyes*
Hopefully this means what it appears to mean and Jerusalem is not going to let the IslamoNazi “investigators” in. The lady in charge of same has already made it perfectly clear she is on the enemy’s side.. and Isr is not obligated to play their games anyway.
PS: Notice how the enemies of USA and Israel like to use the very same tactics in both places ... spread confusion and especially try to demoralize the defense forces, military, and other front-line guardians of free nations (such as what O has done to the US military with “homosexual barracks” and “do not attack, do not defend yourselves Rules of Engagement”..... also how he’s neutered the US Border Patrol, etc.)...
For at least as long as a country is under attack like Isr, or is being infiltrated by enemy agents such as USA now...the leadership should NOT allow any outside “investigations” of its defenses. Period.
I may be frustrated with Bibi but he’s a smart fellow... and so I take it that his statement here means he realizes the danger and will not let Jerusalem’s defense forces be subjected to this kind of Morale Assault.
Tear down the will to defend. DO it by demoralizing and confusing the front-line defense forces. Do it behind the lines by reeaping confusion on college campuses, find dupes to snarl civilian commute traffic, etc.
All righ out of the Communist (and Alinsky, obviously) play books.
Europa is being raped by the Bull all over again...
Mr.Netanyahu sets an example for us.
States and individuals need to reject the rulings of the federal black-robed commies and fascists who do not follow the Constitution. Let these traitors send out legions of fat bureaucratic jellyfish to enforce their illegal commie diktates.
“”Reportedly Netanyahu spoke with US Secretary of State John Kerry on Saturday night, requesting American support in preventing the ICC action against Israel.””
Bibi hasn’t learned by now he can’t trust Kerry or anyone representing the U.S. administration? Come on, he’s smarter than that. I certainly trust him more than obozo or any of his people..
