Which of the Two Dozen 2016 GOP Contenders is the Right One?
The American Thinker ^ | January 16, 2015 | Ron Lipsman

Posted on 01/16/2015 4:23:17 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

"....the number of potential contenders for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination exceeds two dozen. It's actually a somewhat ridiculous situation......

...Now it is my assertion that the vast majority of GOP politicians over the last century can be classified into one of the following three categories:

RINOs–meaning that they do not really believe that progressivism and big government are bad for America–it's just that the Democrats are screwing it up and Republicans should be entrusted with the task of implementing the progressive agenda because they will do it more efficiently and cost effectively than liberal Democrats have or could.

CRUELs–that is,confused Republicans who are unable to exercise leadership. These are conservative politicians whose hearts and minds may be in the right place, but they are unable to:(i)articulate their beliefs;(ii)explain the connection between progressivism and the ills that beset the nation;(iii)describe clearly how conservative policies will enhance liberty and economic prosperity;and(iv)deflect the vicious slanders that the Democrats hurl at them.

CCCs–that is committed, conservative constitutionalists. These are politicians who have a clear understanding of what the progressives have wrought and how the country has changed. They can envision and describe the bleak future that awaits us if we don’t have a major course correction. Furthermore, such people also have a clear idea of what must be done to return the country to its founding ethos,re-institute the ideals of free market capitalism, constitutional and limited governance, and American exceptionalism and thereby restore the republic. Moreover, they can explain these ideas clearly and simply....

So is there a savior in the crowded field? If so, who is it? Well, here are my assessments of the various candidates(the list will not be exhaustive).

RINOs:Romney,Christie,Graham,Snyder,Ehrlich, Gilmore,Kasich;

CRUELS:Santorum,Perry,Palin,Cain, Bachmann,Paul;

CCCs:Cruz,Carson,Pence,Walker,Bolton.

You have, of course, noted several missing names: Bush,Huckabee,Rubio,Jindal,Ryan. These are the folks that I am unable to definitively pigeon-hole....

I hear you. You are the base. She energizes you. But her opportunity came and she chose to walk away. She will not recover from that as far as being a viable candidate. Her only path is if no Non RINO enters and that ain’t gonna happen.

My personal choice is Gov Scott Walker

I am leaning that way. My question is "Does he want it?" We do not need another Fred Thompson.

CCCs:Cruz,Carson,Pence,Walker,Bolton.

I'm in the CCC category. A candidate from any othe category would lead to another Republican loss. Off the triple-C's Carson's a joke, Bolton is slightly less of a joke, Walker I could live with but he's not my first choice and Pence isn't running. That leaves the most obvious choice by a wide margin - Ted Cruz.

“...the importance of our culture (loss of and need to reclaim).”

What if they’ve already succeeded in changing the culture, making this one the norm, denigrating the founding, and what you see is what the culture is?

How tragic if that is the case.

IMHO

3 more reads on Scott Walker for those want to learn more about him. The first link is a hit piece by the Left [’cause they don’t like that Walker believes in a higher power - so that is informative].

Good stuff right there. The 2009 hit piece that attacks his spiritual values is especially instructive.

And his record of real accomplishment in Wisc as noted in the other two contrast well with the execrable Romney record in Mass.

As for Jeb - Terri Schiavo

One more interesting take on Walker:

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/scott-walker-the-un-academic/article/2558544

“...............Our best-known academics today are Obama, Jonathan Gruber, and Hillary — who as Hillary Rodham made Life magazine as her class valedictorian, and who had been told by her teachers that SHE should be president, long before Bill had arrived on the scene. With this in mind, Walker should wear his state proudly. He could win by acclaim as as the un-academic. Run, Scotty, run!”

Disappointed with Palin pulling out, but...
She probably realized by being front runner and with all the left machinery gearing up on destroying her, grizzly mama chose to back off and wait for next time, when she gains more popularity and support.
I think her role is best to run as VP, be vocal in bringing all the Kenyan’s crime, and get experienced for next run for Potus.
The best team I think is WALKER + PALIN.
Experience and accomplishments + ferocious grizzly mama.

GO SARAH!

“CCCs: Cruz, Carson, Pence, Walker, Bolton.”

Sorry but I’d have to put Carson in the CRUEL’s and Bolton who I used to like is a NEOCON.

With a “land rush” of candidates looking to enter 2016 R race, she better make up her mind pretty quick. It’s going to require huge money, and there will be intense competition for it.

I was another disappointed conservative when Palin pulled out her football. The 4th of July video had clinched the deal she was running... Then she cheesily uses her family as the reason she decides not to run. The same family she had a month earlier.

She’s a phony and an attention hog even while she is articulate (in writing moreso) on all the important issues. She’s all about herself. I’ll forgive her that and I’d still vote for her for office but it’s not the disappointed people on the right that keep her from the presidency.

3/4 of Americans don’t just THINK she’s dumb. They are SURE she is dumb. They are wrong; she isn’t. But the media successfully Palinized her and I’m afraid palinization is permanent.

The thing is, she was never in the race last time.

************

Do you see evidence of her being in the race this time? Time is getting short
for putting all the pieces together to be an effective candidate.

Jindal is the mirror image of Obama. Obama gave a speech that propelled a wholly inexperenced and incompetent narcissistic racist to the presidency. Jindal gave a poorly received rebuttable to a SOTU speech has all of his achievements and competence dismissed as a viable candidate for the presidency.

I confess I did not see or hear that speech and have no idea what you are talking about.

Go back and read articles/interviews on how he “held the purse strings” of the Dems (Reid & Pelosi & Franks era) and incurred their ire.

WWE Smackdown works the same way. Before that we had the briar patch.
