This may offend Catholics, but the Pope has no idea what he’s talking about and he seems to be nothing but a left-wing propagandist.

Agreed. I have no idea why this guy was elected pope, but it definitely doesn’t seem like there was any divine guidance involved.

The good news is that he apparently has no qualms about demonstrating his abject idiocy on any number of subjects ... including many that he is absolutely unqualified to make any definitive statements about.

He's a rock star pope, needing attention all the time. They picked the wrong one, no humility no truth. He knows nothing about what he is talking about.

I’m Catholic and I agree with you fully. I want someone to ask him a personal question in clear Rioplatense, which is the Spanish spoken in Argentina. Ask him “How much, Your Holiness? How much money will be coming to the Vatican because of your public support for Global Warming? Whose science are you using to embrace this conclusion? Will your source allow for open debate of the topic?

The Pope needs to spend less time on global warming and more time stopping his priests from grabbing little boy’s weiners.

We are not offended. We realize, at least some of us, that the same disease that has infected the Whitehouse and Congress has infected that institution as well.

As a Catholic, I find your comment regarding this pope highly offensive accurate.

(BTW if you can't see the strike through and bolding on your device, offensive is stricken through and accurate is bolded.)

As the product of a Jesuit education, I would place the political center of the Society considerably to the left of Obama; in fact, it's somewhat to the left of Karl Marx.

The Pope is an embarrassment to Catholics much as the Jihadist in chief is an embarrassment to Americans.
This is coming from a practicing Catholic. I’m sure that a lot of Catholics are frustrated to say the least, so look for a rift in the church, and Catholics not going to and leaving the church.

Trust us. Most of us Catholics are shaking our heads over this guy too. Oh sorry, his holiness. Let me guess the Vatican has a climate adviser on the payroll and its none other than Algore!

I’m one and I agree with you 100%.

If he’s not speaking ex-cathedra, his opinion is no better than anyone else’s.

This Pope’s life was in Argentina where his experiences go from Peron to the latest woman imbecile.

He should stick to saving souls, not planets. There is sure no shortage of candidates for that in this world.

I was raised Catholic and your words are 100% correct.

The day his named was announced as the new pope I flipped out when I learned he was a Jesuit, because I knew he would be spouting Marxist talking points.

I miss Pope Benedict.

What you said doesn’t offend me. The temperature of the Earth is no part of the teaching of the Catholic Church. The Pope has no authority to pontificate about it.

On top of that, he is provably WRONG. The Earth has been cooling for 18 years and 4 months.

He is promoting a hoax. It appears he will promote policies that are DESIGNED to kill AT LEAST a billion people, starting with the poorest, by denying them energy and food.

I ditto that! Just shows that liberal progressive idiocy can exist in the “president” of the Catholics as well as the “president” of the US.

They ignore factual scientific data and base their ignorant views on purposefully flawed data pushed by the UN and so-called scientists. ....There’s been NO global warming for over 18 years!!! Climate change is natural.

My family and I are Catholic. We want a redo on his election.

We take solace that he is a flawed man elected by other flawed men.

To: TBP; everyone

This man is wrong for the job. He is a socialist, and I regret that he was chosen. As a Catholic, I say we need a Pope like the late Pope John Paul..he was simply the best Pope we ever had for a multitude of reasons. Here’s to the next Pope, and I hope he’s a reincarnation of the late, great Pope John Paul, the pride of Poland and the Vatican.

“This may offend Catholics, but the Pope has no idea what he’s talking about and he seems to be nothing but a left-wing propagandist.”

I don't think you will offend too many Catholics. I think he has a good heart, but his world-view is obviously colored by his background - as it is for all of us. I'm far from having anything more than a cursory knowledge of the politics of Argentina, but socialism is no stranger to that country, and although Francis wrote against secularism and liberation theology, he also lived through the times of Peron, and unless he were entirely disengaged from the world around him his life would have to have been affected by the political climate in Argentina - and its reasonable to assume that this has probably influenced his views.

The concept / belief that the pope is chosen by the Cardinals, with the help of divine guidance, has not stopped the Church from having had some real doozies as popes over the ages. I don't know much about the backgrounds of most Cardinals, but their backgrounds and beliefs are clearly going to have an impact on who they vote for.

Anyway, we live in very interesting, and troubling times.
