The blacks in Hollywood are between a rock and hard place. If they join Sharpton, they get blacklisted. I don’t see Denzel on Sharpton’s side. The problem is people won’t want to hire black actors for fear of being called a racist if they don’t get Oscars.
I’m upset about the lack of Blacks in the traditional morality and conservative political movements. Does that count?

As I recall they have some sort of straw poll for the first phase - directors vote for best director (picture?), leading actresses vote for leading actress, supporting actresses vote for supporting actresses, etc.

Stupid? STUPID?! This guy has made millions by doing nothing but being a whiny black. That’s it. He’s done nothing with his entire life other than to show up and have money thrown at him. That might be a lot of things, but it’s not stupid.
Then get a second/third job bum. There are budding rap stars turning their lives around counting on you. I feel they are entitled to some white privilege. After all, clearly it’s your fault their great great great grandfather sold their great grandfather to a Muslim Barbary Pirate first.

Much of the overseas income for films is now from Asia, and there is a lot of racial prejudice in Asia against others, especially blacks (but also against Chinese in the Philippines, against Japanese in China, against Koreans in Japan etc)
And, given Hollywood's repeated portrayal of blacks as criminals in numerous films and TV shows, that impression is not being corrected here.
True, black superstars who play in a mixed movie will be accepted, because they are “white”, but not a “black” film...and most of the black “high profile” films (e.g. Selma) seem to be propaganda to make Americans feel guilty about their “whiteness” (remember, in progressive land, Asians are white too).
The down side of this propaganda is that overseas folks don't want to watch such films because they are boring.
