Phi Psi members, speaking publicly for the first time since the allegations surfaced, told The Washington Post that they went into hiding for weeks after their home was vandalized with spray-painted messages calling them rapists and with bricks thrown through windows. They booked hotel rooms to avoid the swarm of protesters on their front lawn. They watched as their brotherhood was vilified, coming to symbolize the worst episode of collegiate sexual violence against women since the 2006 Duke University lacrosse team scandal which also turned out to be false.
Although the Rolling Stone article was discredited and the students account challenged the magazine apologized for inaccuracies after The Post discovered significant discrepancies in the article it wasnt until this week that Phi Psi was officially cleared.
On Monday, the first day of the spring semester, Charlottesville police announced that an investigation found no basis to believe that an attack occurred at the fraternity.

The only thing dumber than a person is a mob.
I want to see the frat bring the mother of all law suits brought to bear.
I want every lawyer both good (conservative) and evil (liberal) dedicated to sucking each and every buck out of that idiot university and staff, the accuser, and most of all, The Rolling Stone(d).
Kill ‘em, burn ‘em, take a bodacious Obama on the ashes, and send the remains to the moon (where they can meet Monammed’s “god”).
It might be a problem for that particular chapter to sue this woman and Rolling Stone; but their national organization wouldn’t have this problem. So we can but hope that they can assemble enough actionable libels to really nail both of them.
Rolling Stone should be charged with inciting a riot, and at minimum be liable for all property damages.
But, no... much like Trayvon Martin and other factless reporting, there is NO CONSEQUENCE to the media for their actions.
Rolling Stone not offering any compensation to the frat and the brothers living there? Hmm...
They could sue Rolling Stone and get a settlement that would enable them to buy a new building for their fraternity. Maybe about $3-4 MM. That’s not much for a fine publication like RS.
the frat won't being suing anybody, because that would invite many to come forward with their rape and intimidation stories, and you know, there probably is one honest Christian man who will back them up....
they better just walk away and hope that no one secretly hides a video/audio recorder in their purse or jacket while attending one of the "parties"..
Ya ... OK .... but .... how do you REALLY feel ?
***just because this account was discredited on its face, it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen in some form....***
Good grief. This was a heinous completely fallacious accusation. It was not vetted at all until after print.
Not one thing about the accusation was true...not one. The guy never existed, therefore there could not have been any rape or sexual assault of any kind at any fraternity at UVa.
I’d like to see charges pressed against Jackie.
As Rahm Emmanual said, never let a crisis go to waste. Here the university is using their own mistake to require fraternities to sign new contracts. My response would be: Our fraternity already has a binding contract and we expect the university to abide by it.
That is just as ignorant as the pharmaceutical ad where the pretty woman says, "There's such a thing as being "a little bit pregnant".
NO there is NOT, and Yes, it DOES mean that this DID NOT HAPPEN. In any way shape or form, as described by the liars and their abettors.
Just because all accounts of Satanic rituals, involving blood sacrifices, at feminist sororities have been discredited, that doesn’t mean they don’t happen in some form.
It’s been soundly debunked as false.
Seems all the lynch mobs of late have been left wing loonies.
According to the article that particular frat has already rolled over and pissed on its belly.
They told WaPo they are not victims and don’t want to be called such so that they will not detract from true victims of sexual violence. Then they were the first to sign a new contract with the university restricting drinking and social functions, then they self flagellated and signed up for sexual sensitivity training.
What a bunch of pushover losers.
