Since there is no nation called "the globe", and there is no political community called "the globe", and there is no government that rules "the globe", and there is no money system that operates everywhere, how can there be a "global economy"?
That is coming very soon I believe.
If things crash hard, beyond anything the world has seen before, expect to hear the buzz word "reset" all over the news.

The global economy is commerce, buying and selling, making and using
Various and sundry currencies and means of exchange facilitate all the above
Trade.
History tells us it won't be successful but we may endure quite a bit of pain while they are attempting it. In fact, we are enduring the pain now, a bit.
One caveat. We are reaching a time, technologically, where they very well may have the capabilities to keep "the world" under the boot. Think Hunger Games meets Chinese dissent crushing mobile hit squads in the hinterlands meets drones.
