Although the lights of of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin were extinguished to shame a PEGIDA demonstration last week, they were burning brightly yesterday as German Chancellor Angela Merkel joined a rally of Muslim inhabitants of Berlin.
The rally, organised in part to show solidarity with those killed in Paris, and in part to signal opposition to the Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West (PEGIDA), featured Muslim community leaders, sung Islamic prayers, and a raft of top German politicians.
Although the turnout was significantly smaller than recent PEGIDA protests, German leaders flocked to be seen at the event. President Joachim Gauck spoke in glowing terms about what he saw as the success of multiculturalism in Germany: “Germany has become more diverse through the integration of religions, cultures and mentalities. That makes out country successful, interesting, and charming”.

The real threat to German leaders is PEGIDA. As in the U.S. the threat to leadership is the Tea Party. Joachim Gauck is happy. He would sooner march with islamic radicals than PEGIDA. “Germany has become more diverse through the integration of religions, cultures and mentalities. That makes out country successful, interesting, and charming.” Sounds like Gen. George Casey: “What happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy, but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here.” Western leaders will insure that we will get much more “success,” “charm” and we will live in “interesting times.”

What are we going to do? The Muslims have actually emerged as winners from this. I suspect that it was because Bambi, the Muslim in Chief, didn't show up at the rally, and the Europeans have gotten the message from their idol (Nobel Peace Prize winner, don't forget) and are rapidly making amends.
I am waiting for the first "call to prayer" from the WH, which I suspect will come pretty soon as an act of "solidarity" with Muslims.
Today I read that Oxford University Press is going to stop publishing children's books that mention pigs or even sausage or other pork products in order not to offend Muslims. A Jewish representative said, well, we don't eat pork, but we can say the word and we don't care if other people eat pork. But not Muslims, and our "leaders" have now shown us that Muslims compose the most important group in their country.

Gee, now that the Germans know which side she is on, maybe they will send her on her way?
I see. Incidentally, what’s so “charming’ about importing millions of islamonazis sworn to kill you or at least impose a shariah Islamic law dictatorship and subjugate you in your own land? Many descriptive words come to mind but somehow “charming” isn’t one of them.
Merkel squeaked in the first time she was elected; she’s about as conservative a leader as Germany is ever likely to have from here on out; and supporters of PEGIDA are her political adversaries. So, she’s moved away from her own base, or rather part of it, repudiating PEGIDA, and stirring up fears among the left, moving some to vote a little to the right. It’s frustrating to watch, and I don’t like her at this point, but it’s completely comprehensible. And of course, Pooty-Poot has been trying to subvert politics in Europe for a while now.
