Some lamebrain stole our mailbox sometime last night. Bryan found a 4"X4" stump sticking out of the ground with our newspaper sitting on top of it instead of our very nice mailbox. He's gone out to see if our local Wal★Mart has the same make and model as advertised on their web site. Failing that, he's going to see if Lowe's has it. We contemplated calling the police, but instead, Bryan is going to cruise the neighborhood to see if it was a neighbor who stole it. If someone is that desperate for a mailbox, I suppose we can just contribute ours. I just hope that they pick off our street numbers, or at least cover them over. We need to set the new one in stone, literally. It's all part of the "FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION" I guess.

Ours was stolen a few years ago with Saturday's mail still in it. We did call the state troopers because of the mail. They searched and so did we but didn't find it in ditches or fields.

The neighbors down the way built a field stone post and even covered the mailbox. It's really a lovely pillar. It protects it from being stolen, hammered or hit by a plow.

I can't image someone is stupid enough to steal your mailbox and then proudly display it in front of their own property.

No, we discounted that because they had to lift it off of three feet
of 4”X4” post. If someone had run into it, the post would have
been broken, and their car would have been in the roadside ditch.
