Eugene Robinson: If Paris Attack Happened In U.S. There Would Be "More Carnage" Because Of Guns

"Just to keep it into perspective, I don't think we should imagine that the conditions and the threat are exactly the same in the United States as they are in France. They are different. In fact, one thing that is different here is weapons are universally available and so it is actually a very good thing that, that the tensions are not exactly the same because we would expect to have a lot more carnage," Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson said on the Friday broadcast of MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports.

I had the same thought. I could have ended this that moment.

I had heard on Hannity a couple of days ago that the police had a choice on if they wanted to carry a gun or not.

The only more carnage would the terrorists being taken out on day one by armed citizens. Thus saving the lives of those hostages taken a day later. And armed police.
Or it would not have happened at all because the cowards would not even try. The terrorists only act in "No Gun" zones.

“The terrorist had a rocket propelled grenade”
that’s a tough one to overcome, especially if there are a couple guys with them. Even for an armed populace.

Unless it was in a blue state, in which case the perps would be slipping on the urine puddles from the liberals near them.
Well, at least the women would be saved from any chance of rape - according to the liberals!!

Robinson is yet another example of how when it comes to liberals and gun control, you can't fix stupid.
France has very restrictive gun laws & yet that didn't prevent these Islamic terrorists from acquiring high-powered weapons.
Speaking of which, if only Maryland & NY had strict gun laws, the assassination of those 2 NYPD police officers (Ramos & Liu) last month by that cretin who traveled from Baltimore to Brooklyn could have been prevented! .. oh, wait ..

Yep. If you can take a picture, you can take a shot.
If you have your blaster.

If this happened in Tel Aviv, there would be so many holes in these guys, you couldn’t figure out the shooter.

And what is the problem with this? The only good kind of Muslim is a dead Muslim.
To: Travis McGee
I've reviewed those photos and video several times, and I humbly submit that I could readily have downed both terrorists from that vantage point.
I'm sure I'm not alone in that assessment.
And that would have solved a lot of problems right there, serait-il pas?

Let’s hear it for more carnage. It’s why Admiral Yamamoto warned the Japanese high command not to invade the United States, because American farmers, ranchers, factory workers, and many others with rifles and shotguns would show up in Arizona and blow their army apart.

Perhaps. In America the two cops would have their 9mms. Against three trained men with with autofire AKs wearing body armor.
Obviously, it’s better to be underarmed than unarmed, but such a confrontation here would probably not have turned out all that differently. At least so far as the consequences to the cops go.
