Walker is fine in his current role but I do not support him for President.
As for college degree, no it is not a requirement but why start off with that if you don’t have to?

A college degree is something you get in order to go to work for a company founded by a high school graduate.

hahaha, Vet, did you think thru your response:
Affirmative Action = BHO
Legacy = GWB
Earned way = WJC
And I dare say, like it or not, HRC also earned her way into Yale Law. High IQ and LSATs don’t mean one will be a great. or even good, POTUS.

No, it shouldn’t matter, but yes it is different than the usual.
And nothing the media does would convince me to vote for the pro-amnesty/open borders Walker.
To: SoFloFreeper
So, what do you all say? Does someone HAVE TO HAVE a college degree to be elected President? More importantly, will the lack of a college degree KEEP the populace from voting for Walker (if he is the nominee)?
All those Harvard and Yale graduates in our government over the past few decades have squandered the vision of the Founding Fathers.
Maybe because those colleges have squandered the vision and mission of their founding fathers.
Give me a successful businessman, a farmer, a student of history, a down to earth American. Coolidge, Reagan, Jefferson ...
No more Ivy Leaguers, please. They’ve failed.

Walker is one of my “people of interest,” for President of the United States. Another is Perry of Texas. Both seem to have performed and Perry is seeing the light with regard to illegals.

By the way with regard to the primary question posed in this thread some of the most able men I have known in my 70 + years were NOT college graduates or even attendees.

There are other mistakes in the chart. George Washington never attended college.
Since most of the recent Presidents have been lawyers, I think they may have left out some of the degrees they earned.

John Adams graduated from Harvard College and James Madison from Princeton, so they could be called Ivy League grads. James Monroe attended the College of William and Mary but was a college dropout--because he left to fight in the American Revolution. William and Mary is not one of the Ivy League schools but has been called a "public ivy."
The chart shows John Adams and John Quincy Adams as having earned master's degrees, which is not so.

Nor does it show Nixon as having a J.D. I’m sure there are other errors.
W&M is a ‘public Ivy” because it’s nearly as old as Harvard, but is now a state school (and an exceptionally darn good one, at half the cost!)

There was a book published in the 1980s called The Public Ivies which identified a number of excellent schools where you could get the equivalent of an Ivy League education for a fraction of the cost (if a state resident). William and Mary and the University of Virginia were both on the list. W&M's tuition may be one-third that of Harvard's. It's the second oldest college in the US (older than Yale).

I hear you. Your post touched my heart. My dad was also a very successful, self-made man. He dropped out of college in order to help out his family and actually supported his younger brother through medical school. He is greatly missed.
Scott Walker's lack of a college degree is actually a plus in my book. I hope he throws his hat in the ring.
