The story so far: 12 people, including two policemen, have been murdered at the offices of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo by two hooded men wielding AK47s. In 2011 the magazine was firebombed after running a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad. Charlie Hebdos most recent tweet, before the latest attack, was a cartoon featuring the leader of Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Heres what will happen next.
1. French authorities will urge the public not to jump to any unhelpful conclusions about the identity and motivation of the killers.
2. Politicians, police chiefs and mainstream media reports will urge restraint over what is clearly an inexplicable rogue incident which may have nothing whatsoever to do with the Religion of Peace.
3. Extensive and largely fruitless efforts will be made to find Muslim community leaders prepared to speak out against the incident, in the unlikely event that it proves that the killers may have had Islamist sympathies.

“Seriously, where does one get an AK in a country where citizens cannot have one under any circumstances?”
The Saudi embassy?
It is brewing. It is brewing in this country because just like the European governments, ours can't even call it terrorism.
Although the blowback by necessity will have to come from we the people, if for no other reason than the fact that our government is paralyzed, not all measures that can be taken by the people need to be violent, or even illegal.
Ostracizing is a beginning, and this has begun. The benefit of the doubt has already been squandered by inaction among moderate Islamists, if any exist.
Time to change course.
We should be unabashed about our fear of these people, and our determination to rid ourselves of their influence on our government, and their violence against us.
A few mosques will go boom. Soon.
Many American citizens are reaching wits end with this particular attack, even though it's in France. Any attack on freedom of speech is an attack on us, and we are frustrated as can be. A tipping point this could be, most certainly for the French people, but perhaps the Western world in addition.
When those on this forum say "nothing will happen", I can agree that effective government action probably won't happen. But there's nothing restraining we the people from taking measures that by necessity, now have to take on a retaliatory, punitive flavor.
I trust the American people.
With the internet around, almost impossible.
CRICKETS CHIRPING
Don’t you know, “Islam is a religion of peace” ..????
IOW, Sharia Laws......................
I will have no trouble sleeping after seeing 1200 dead muslims murdered in response to this. I have relatives living in France. They are long past the time of expecting the government to do anything about this. I don’t know if this will be the tipping point but I do expect a response.
Many French people have hunting weapons.
Mosques burn.
People die.
These facts will not always be unrelated
Marseilles. If you have the money and the desire, you can get it there.
The French obviously need tougher gun control. /s
