John Boehner is getting revenge.
He secured his third term as speaker Tuesday afternoon, losing 25 votes on the House floor to three relatively unknown members of the House Republican Conference. But hes already punishing those who betrayed him.
First up: Florida Reps. Daniel Webster and Richard Nugent. The pair will be booted from their spots on the House Rules Committee, according to sources familiar with the decision. Webster ran against Boehner (R-Ohio) for speaker Tuesday, and Nugent supported his fellow Floridian.
The Rules Committee is a panel appointed by the speaker, and it controls the flow of legislation to the House floor. Its a prestigious appointment for members who are loyal to leadership.

Okay, so, what now? The Republicans are mostly traitors. What can we do now?
No idea quite yet. We do know now, for a fact, that there is a very sizable contingent of people in America that have no representation.

Mia Love was quite quickly corrupted. I was shocked by that one.
No, actually I’m not. In Wisconsin you don’t need to register either party unless you work at the polls which I did for many years. Now that I don’t, I do not contribute to the GOP here in WI. I gave moola to our great Gov. Walker though.
No argument. More than half the population WANT this fundamental transformation into Imperial Fascism and Oligarchy.
Adam's statement was true and prophetic; our Constitution (and Liberty itself) was made only for a MORAL and RELIGIOUS (meaning Christian) people, it is wholly inadequate to govern any other kind of people.
In short, if we will not be governed by God, we will be ruled by the tyranny of men.
Here we are.
You ever see “Man for all Seasons?”
“Why Richard, it profits a man nothing to give his soul for the entire world...but for Wales?”
Screw boner!!
If I was a member of the American Left, I’d be laughing and pissing on everyone too.
Rush is wrong.
Because I see our fiat dollar as a fool’s mirage not a store of wealth, with USA debt, including the “unfunded” beyond our imagination, and the probability of a total collapse whenever the music stops or a black swan appears, I wonder if we might entertain a totally different strategy amongst ourselves.
Here are my momentary contrarian notions - assuming that the can gets kicked down the road, and TPTB manage to keep the balls in the air until 2016...
Should we want to elect an “R” president to take the inevitable blame for a collapse that most sentient people have seen coming because of the mess made in Washington?
Perhaps we could consider letting go of our end of the rope, so to speak, and let the “progressives” have their way, by our switching our votes to whatever dimwit the Dems decide to put up for election, so that they inherit the mess they have created over these past decades of idiotic “feel-good” policies, that have led us into this economic dead-end.
Maybe we would be smarter to vote “dem” next time around, so they can own the mess they have made.
Please know that I am a true conservative, but doubt that we can correct the ship of state in the voting booth, or by calling our congress critters.
The problems now are too great to be “painted over, beaten to match”, and we conservatives must fight in ways we have never fought before.
Perhaps it is time to scare the Rinos with a grass roots defection to the “idiot” party, since it might be the only thing that would get them to wake up. After all, if we citizens are going to be sold down the river, why not get on the bigger boat?
You can see who he loves, and it ain’t us.
These 25 patriots should start their own national party. Why would they not?
I'm very much surprised with the Yes vote by Rep. Steve Pearce of District 2 in NM. This (formerly) conservative rep. voted against Boehner for Speaker in January 2013! But recently he has been making noises about supporting amnesty and work permits for illegals. His facebook page is being hammered with very angry constituents who say he lost their support both as volunteers and with donations. I'm sure there may be some who will be looking for a primary challenger to support in 2016.

Sumary:
1996, John Boehner passed out Tobacco PAC campaign checks on the House Floor. Rep. Steve Largent, a freshman, called him on it and persuaded him (with others) to do that elsewhere.
Boehner said yes he did, it was stupid, he will not do it again.

“...This civil lawsuit appears to be little more than retaliation against Mr. McDermott, who was the senior Democrat on the Ethics Committee. Mr. Boehner is not suing the Martins for damages. Nor is he suing the news organizations, thereby recognizing that press freedoms allow the publication of truthful, lawfully obtained, newsworthy information. The same freedoms apply to citizens in general, including members of Congress. Mr. Boehner is harassing a political opponent with a suit that threatens to trample on free speech and Congressional prerogatives....”
My guess is any alleged wrong doing is financial in nature, but buried so deep it would take a financial expert to unravel it all. Above my pay-grade, I still add with my fingers. :)
There are rumors of an affair, but in his day & age it will take more than an affair.
His parties during the conventions are legendary. An A list type of guy.
Was quoted by The Washington Post saying a ban on privately paid trips by lawmakers and their staffs as ‘’childish.’’
The one constant theme I found tonight was how tight he is and has always has been with K St and Lobbyists, and makes no apologies.
I was reposting Seaplaner’s post. He’s the one who said “Change the party from within”. I’ve never believed that crap. If you’ll notice my actual response was LOL!
Notice who's over Boehner's left shoulder? Yup -- that's Nancy Pelosi. Wonder why she's so happy ....... Hmmm. Now why could that be?
What a worthless pile of human trash.
THIS is why I’m pessimistic of this country recovering.
The more I think about Steve’s ‘yes’ vote, the more disgusted I become disgusted I become with him. He and I had a discussion concerning “principled decisions” once. I feel had.
“They understood it would happen going in.
Give them credit for doing a principled vote anyway.”
Exactly! While we may not like Boehner, this is, for better or worse, how politics work. You reward your friends and punish your enemies. If Pelosi were Speaker and faced a challenge like this, you can rest assured she’d have done the same thing Boehner did.
