Two top deputies to Speaker John Boehner defended on his behalf the tactic of forcing members to vote on legislation they havent yet read in Monday evenings more than two-hour-long conference meeting of Republican members, one of the members challenging Boehner for Speaker told Breitbart News exclusively.
Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), a candidate joining Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) to challenge Boehner for Speaker on Tuesday, told Breitbart News that he stood up and offered in conference that Republicans should not vote on legislation without having 72 hours to read it at a minimum. But Yoho was met with fierce opposition from both House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Majority Whip Steve Scalise.
It got turned down. Mr. Scalise and Mr. McCarthy talked against it so it would cripple our hand, because they have to do these things short notice. But to me, thats a lack of leadership, and thats the whole reason we have to do what were doing in the Housethats a perfect example. The argument was, well, if the bill came out with language on Tuesday at 9 oclock at night, that would mean we would have to stay here until Friday to vote on it. Why not stay here until next week and give members more than two or three days to read a bill? These thingstheyre ridiculous. The American people expect and deserve better from us, and they deserve better, and thats why we need different leadership.

Trey Gowdy has now given all of us an excuse not to vote. He didn’t show up to vote for speaker. That’s a great example. Now I won’t feel bad when I don’t show up at the polls.
All new laws should be limited to 1 or 2 pages and no other items can be in the same offering.
The Constitution is what, 15 pages?
How about a law that says “The total word count of any bill + ammendments, riders or other additions cannot exceed the word count of the Constitution (4400 words)”.
Or
No bill shall be presented to the President for signature that exceeds the word count of the Constitution (4400 words)
Lets see how many of these self-important narcissists want to be in government forever once they can’t play political hide-and-seek to gain power and money.
