The civil rights groups say they believe accountability “at the local, state, and federal levels are central to advancing and broadening equal educational opportunity for each and every child in America.”
“From early education to the post-secondary years, we believe that the federal government continues to play a critical role in helping states, districts, and tribes to achieve educational excellence through equity,” the groups write.
They assert, however, their concerns “about overly punitive accountability systems:”
In particular, the No Child Left Behind law has not accomplished its intended goals of substantially expanding educational equity or significantly improving educational outcomes. Racial achievement and opportunity gaps remain large, and many struggling school systems have made little progress under rules that emphasize testing without investing. [3] We must shift towards accountability strategies that promote equity and strengthen, rather than weaken, schools in our communities, so that they can better serve students and accelerate student success.

So schools will serve communities by NOT educating the children?
Hell......most of them can’t pass a SUB-standardized test, let alone a legit one.
No Standardized Tests for Minorities = No college admission for said minorities
It’s just common sense... and is FAIR.
Government schools are nothing more than another Democrat slush fund.
But we cannot have minority parents sending their children to private charter schools that get better results because they actually care for their children’s futures and not the fat wallets of school union coffers....

Summary: We want more taxpayer money thrown into the kitty so we can steal more if it, and we don’t want to have to prove we used the money for the actual students.
I am just dumbfounded.
I think of the things they gave been handed since birth, things I have spent my entire life paying for.
I have come to the conclusion that they will never be happy until all whites vacate their homes and bank accounts and hand the keys and everything over to them.
I want to play point guard for The Bulls. I should get the job without a tryout because I am an extreme minority in the NBA: White, 61 years old and I could never dunk. It’s only fair because the inner city Blacks who predominate in the NBA are privileged.
While watching the protests, it struck me as strange. Why weren’t these folks in the street pushing for charter schools?
A good education would save more black lives than whatever it is that they asking for. What is it they trying to achieve again?
One wonders how they will deal with pay raises ? Will it be by 'most children ignored' ?
School yearbooks are going to have a larger than usual section entitled “Most likely to fail”.
This whole letter is so full of gobbledygook and prog-speak it reads like it was written by a buzzword generator.
Absolutely nothing in the article supports the headline.
Reading and writing in cursive is racist.

Wait a minute. You mean it’s just for minorities ?
Why can’t we let children of all races not be tested ?
It is against our Constitution to allow ignorant children only amongst minorities. All children should be raised completely ignorant. It’s the law. (/s)
Just make blacks doctors, lawyers, engineers and dentists without the required education. There are to many whites in those positions.
