Many illegal immigrants at a Northern California DMV reportedly were failing the written exam when applying for drivers licenses on Friday.
Under the AB 60 law that Governor Jerry Brown (D) signed in 2013 and took effect at the start of 2015, illegal immigrants were able to apply for drivers licenses on Friday. And nearly 1.4 illegal immigrants are expected to apply for licenses in California in the next three years.
At a DMV in south Sacramento, Veronica Oropeza, a 28-year-old illegal immigrant who has reportedly been driving without a license for six years, reportedly failed her written exam twice.
Nobodys passing, she told the Sacramento Bee in Spanish.

Need to renew my license soon and yesterday when by my local DMV that place was a zoo.
Everybody assumes the people are failing the test due to illiteracy. Perhaps they are just stupid.
A friend of mine went back home to India to see his family; while there he got his drivers license. Upon returning here, he was automatically given a NJ license upon presentation of the one from India. He had never before even driven on the right side of the road...
Are you a member of AAA? Some offices offer license renewal.
Might also check and see if yours can be done by mail.
Sad. Illegal drove illegally to dmv in the open waiting to get license then go to work illegally driving to an illegal job. Nice.
When I lived in California, you could take the written test 3 times in one day, each test was different.
I am not kidding, have seen this myself. Mexican goes in, takes all 3 tests. DMV worker corrects the tests and hands them back. Mexican shares with friends so they can memorize the order of the correct answers and pass it that way.
Just because they are driving doesn’t mean they know how to drive. Take a look at the accident stats for any border state for proof...and they also think they have a right to drive drunk every weekend.
If CA doesn’t pay for their car insurance, they’ll present a card showing they bought insurance, but it only lasts a day or a week so they can present a card. That’s common in Texas.
Anyway, my daughter went to take the written test and I waited outside with other parents...all of whom were Hispanic.
One lady's daughter came out and wailed to her mom that she had failed, the test was TOO HARD. She had missed 11 or 12, not sure. Then she said the girl next to her had missed the same number of questions. I was worried that perhaps it was my daughter who had been next to her. She continued loudly complaining about the test and how difficult it was. My daughter came out, and I could not tell by the look on her face whether she had passed or not, so when she got to my side, I asked her quietly--"Well?"
Daughter: "WELL WHAT? Did you think I failed? This was the easiest test ever!!"
Me: "Shh! Shh! Lower your voice."
Daughter: "What, did someone FAIL?!"
Me: "Keep walking, we kind of stick out in this part of town."
Give them a curve say, 100% or change all the signs to Mescan. That will fix it.
You dumb Californification Politicians....what did you think was going to happen? You gotta bunch of dumbass wetbacks that do not speekee de English and you expect them to read and write it. You politicians, no you voters that elected these politicians in Califonification are the dumbasses.
Sheeeeesh, and this is the new utopian state. Leave me in Texas and leave us alone.
Tony, please, could we have something here beyond the rough draft? It hurt my brain to read this.
No! Please don’t give Obamugabe any ideas!
Good grief. Even the audio test is available in several different languages for those who are illiterate.
Which is why California offers an audio test --in several languages, including Spanish.
The best solution is a nationwide license and ID, issued under the executive authority of the president. It would be visibly different from any other, perhaps with a racing stripe on it.
In big letters, in Mexican (whether the person speaks it or not) would be the statement,"Issued under the executive powers of the president, this ID card is valid for driving anywhere on US territory, and for all banking and voting purposes."
In fine print on the back, in English, would be further information. "This card is given under the assumption that the holder is an illegal alien, does NOT have any auto or liability insurance, is illiterate in ANY spoken language, and is exempt from any test of driving skill. Alcohol and/or drug levels allowed in the blood are 100% higher than state laws that apply to everyone else."
To further streamline the process, and save money, there would be one generic license with a man's picture, and one with a woman's. The generic equivalent of Juan and Mary Jane doe would be used for everyone. No place for a signature, and no bar codes, magnetic strips, or RFID chips. Let's see Gov Moonbeam try to beat that.
He's already licensed. :-)
