When Ohio teenager Josh Alcorn told his parents he wanted to live as a girl, that he felt trapped in his own body, his parents said they wouldn’t stand for that.

“We don’t support that, religiously,” his mother told CNN Wednesday, her voice breaking. “But we told him that we loved him unconditionally. We loved him no matter what. I loved my son. People need to know that I loved him. He was a good kid, a good boy.”

Crossing out the name “Josh,” the 17-year-old signed the name he wanted to be known as — “Leelah” — in a suicide note posted to Tumblr.

The note was programmed to publish after Alcorn’s death Sunday. The teenager was struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 71 around 2:15 a.m., about four miles from home in the tiny town of Kings Mills, northeast of Cincinnati.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the death as a suicide

They deleted 3/4 of the comments after the article, including every one that was not pro-trannie PC.

To read their comments now, everybody supports “her” trannie choices/rights etc.

Whatever the reason/fault/blame...a family lost their child in a horrible way.Trashing the kid seems, at best, mean spirited.I know, the site is about opinion but still...it just doesn’t feel right to make lite of it. My prayers are with v the family.

Schizophrenia is something a person is born with.It may not fully manifest itself until the individual reaches their teens or early 20s but it is there from birth.

The suicide rate among post-op transgenders is huge -- much, much higher than the rest of the population on average, and higher than the suicide rate of pre-op transgenders, as well.

Do you have a source? I talked to a guy who claimed the opposite.

Both of the following articles include references to studies claiming that the suicide rate among transgendered is higher than normal:

I know I read a long excerpt from a study lining it all out, but I can't find it now.

I think this issue is fraught with propaganda from the transgender movement, too.

Unarmed but trained people, often formerly violent offenders themselves, patrolling their neighborhoods to curb violence right where it starts.

How Lenin-esque...

True; and if it is not strictly a genetic disease, it is strongly influenced by heredity.

My heart goes out to those poor souls. I have bipolar disorder so I know how difficult life can be. I don’t have paranoid delusions or hear voices but it can be hard.

Take care of yourself.

I grew up with an uncle who had schizophrenia, and if he didn’t take his meds he went quickly off the rails into the wildest paranoid delusions.

The medication had side effects that he didn’t like, but they were better than hurting himself or the rest of us.

He was a good, gentle man when he wasn’t sick.
