And hitting up the taxpayers to support them the rest of their lives DOES serve the public good?
I’m against life sentences. If someone is going to be put away for the rest of his life, that life should be REAL short.

I had to look it up to see if the Beltway Sniper was one of the remainder on death row. The older of the two, John Allen Muhammed, was executed in Virginia and the younger, Lee Boyd Malvo, received consecutive non-capital sentences because he was a minor.
