SURABAYA, Indonesia/JAKARTA (Reuters) - A body recovered on Wednesday from the crashed AirAsia plane was wearing a life jacket, an official with Indonesia's search and rescue agency said, raising questions about how the disaster unfolded.
Rescuers believe they have found the plane on the ocean floor off Borneo, after sonar detected a large, dark object beneath waters near where debris and bodies were found on the surface.

Deceleration trauma.
Standard lapse rate for temperature is the same in the tropics. Every jet flying more than 100 miles is in potential icing temperature, on every flight.
Composite construction is a very new feature. The Boeing 787 has a compute fuselage. The Airbus A350XWB has a composite fuselage. No other large commercial aircraft have composite constructions, including the A320 and A330.
Not always. Only if flights go beyond 50 miles from shore.
No. EOW ( extended over water) planes are equipped with life rafts and life vests. If a plane flies, I think 50 miles from land, over water, flight attendants are required to demo how to don a life vest.
And NEVER inflate your life vest until you are out of the plane.
Dark is not a color.
They said they could see the plane underwater.
Dad used to do some search and recovery work from time to time. He indicated that as the plane broke up at altitude and speed it peeled clothes off very efficiently. Laced up shoes came right off.
At this point I’m waiting on the recorders. They will tell the story.
I was looking for your sarcasm tag.
You’re in a plane going down and you strip down to your undies?
——some fully clothed-——
Hmmm guess they didn’t participate in the precrash orgy
Was this flight m ore than 50 miles from shore?
I saw that horrible picture on drudge and I think it was a woman because it looked like a bra was pushed up towards the upper arms and over the face.
“They said they could see the plane underwater.”
They have said a lot of things.
They thought coral reefs were an oil slick.
We flew from San Antonio to Vegas last summer on Southwest. Attendant gave a life vest demo. Only body of water in the flight path was Lake Mead.
Know what would be messed up? The “dark object” in the water is MHS370.
I think MHS370 was taken out by 0 and put in his huge lock box.
That’s why I thought he might have made it out alive first, not knowing that losing clothes was common in high altitude “events” over water. I figured stripping on the way down was a little too over the top to be taken seriously.
This is crazy.I’m going to put the news on.
Turns out this story is false.
I read that they found 3 people floating in the water holding hands which would lead you to believe the pilot possibly ditched and some people actually got out into the water. Some super informed Freeper validate my belief that plane is the same model Sully whats his name ditched in the Hudson.
