BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - Charges have been filed in the brutal beating death of Domino's pizza deliveryman Najeh Masaeid.
Birmingham police today announced charges against the young suspect who lives at the apartment complex where the 63-year-old Masaeid was slain. The killing happened Dec. 21 at District at the Summit apartments off of U.S. 280 behind the shopping mall.
Corey Arrington Jr., 17, is charged with capital murder during a robbery and robbery, said Birmingham homicide Sgt. John Tanks. Arrington is charged in the death of Masaeid and the November robbery of a Papa John's deliveryman.
BPD's Crime Reduction Team took Arrington into custody today at his apartment near the crime scene and he is still being interviewed by police. Bond for the robbery charge is set at $100,000 however there is a no bond for the capital murder charge. Court records don't show a previous criminal history for Arrington.
Police have said a small amount of cash was taken from Masaeid during the robbery and killing.

No, it will not. Punishments in old England were quite painful. Still, thieves continued their work. They either believed that *they* won't be caught, or the prospect of punishment was beyond their limited imagination.
I suspect that many of those "teens" have no purpose in life. They don't work to learn things, to become professionals, to make useful products, to provide useful services. They live like weeds that only consume but never produce. Like weeds, they do not care about others. Like weeds, they do not think about the future. They don't make plans, and they don't work toward them. They only live in "now", without concern for the future. That's the philosophy of a young man who is already old and broken inside, burned out by hate toward everyone else, and made into a dangerous antisocial construct.
This is not a new problem. Until the 20th century gangs of highwaymen were present in pretty much all countries. The solution was simple: the local law instructed the lawmen to hang caught bandits on a nearest sturdy support. The same method was used to deal with pirates. This was done not because the local baron had no use of a pair of hands; it was done because the baron had no illusions about rehabilitation of those criminals. Isn't it funny that feudal lords of ancient times knew humans better than a modern, educated judge does?

I suspect as these teens outlive their usefulness (providing a life of leisure to useless parents via freebies), they are practically abandoned with no marketable skills. They simply prey on productive people until they inseminate their own sow, and the money starts rolling in...
Living along the frontier of the Newark NJ welfare hatchery, most people are aware of the dangers; I’ve never seen a pizza deliveryman in Newark. Pizzerias in my town don’t deliver there; towing companies won’t go there, either.
Lemme guess ..... They underwrite health insurance but don't carry key man life policies on those deliverymen. If they had to write key man and/or LTD policies on those guys, "insurance company rules" would mean every delivery truck would feature a shotgun ride-along on the back of the truck gazing out at the world over a brace of yoked Degtyarev DShK heavy machine guns.
The use of "rapper" presents a negative connotation and stigmatizes these up and coming artist/thugs. :0)
Ah Yes, Newark. That was my first experience getting robbed. A dozen black kids and me.
A friend best described Newark NJ as a transit hub, a port, and an airport; outside of that it is a wasteland in which most of the residents play no role in those three segments. While the “information superhighway” killed the US economy by facilitating the transfer of jobs from this country, it also made cities irrelevant to many companies. NJ has much nicer places to work, with office parks in suburbs and without the standard fare of gibsmedats with palms outstretched.

My condolences....because you live along the frontier of soulless Newark.
I live across the moat (the Passaic River) from Newark itself; access points are limited and easy to monitor. As long as family is in the area, it is fine; Newark residents stand out like sore thumbs when they come to pilfer.
A few years ago we had a Wal-Mart built in the meadows (away from the residential area); that seems to attract thieves from Newark like moths to a porch-light.
By using their code words of, “teen[s]”, “youth[s]”, the media could not do a better job of describing the perp. than if they published a complete description of them.
