The head of the catholic church is becoming just another politician. This will diminish his authority as a religious leader.

Sadly, his edict soliciting mitigation of global warming is misplaced. Warming trends will only help those needing to grow crops and open up vast areas of the world like Siberia to become more temperate and able to support a higher density of population.

Beware what the leftist Guardian claims.

I’ll wait to see what the Pope actually says.

The ancient becomes modern. Man is still trying to affect the weather. Global warming nonsense is just the modern rain dance.

One way to fight global warming would be for Ayatollah al-Faranhziz to STFU.

Why? Isn’t the earth eventually to be consumed in a lake of fire? Why fight the inevitable?

Fortunately , the Pope is talking "Ex Imperator"
and not "Ex Cathedra"

Since the U.S. is ALWAYS the UN’s first target, all US taxpayer dollars to that rag tag outfit must be stopped.

The Pope obviously has little scientific knowledge. Nor does he seem up on how this world works (the UN is worthless at best Abd just an islamoNazi propaganda mill at worst- it can do nothing about the climate of anything else). Pray that the Holy Father receives better insight about matters spiritual.

The Vicar of Christ right there. Shouldn’t this call into question the whole doctrine of popery?

He has said enough to me lately that indicates he follows the social justice mission of the Church typical to Latin America.

It was actually a lefty Catholic organization (CAFOD) in England that announced all this, not the Pope.

However, he himself said shortly after he was elected that he does plan to write an encyclical on “global warming,” and I believe he is aiming at some kind of world government/religious coalition to promote it, since he’s got a whole schedule of such meetings next year.

I think we are entering a very strange time. If you’re Catholic, stay so, because you’re going to have to fight for the faith. There have been three times when popes have been removed or replaced by “extraordinary councils.” Extraodinary means that usually the Pope is the head of the council, but in this case, they are meeting without their head, either because he is in heresy or because there is more than one Pope because of irregularities.

The first time was when Pope Marcellinus offered grains of incense to the emperor in the 4th century; he was deposed but actually resigned first, repented publicly, and was reappointed...he died a martyr only a few years later, and he was so repentant that he imposed excommunication on anyone who wanted to bury him. It was decades later before another Pope released this and he was buried.

The other occasions were to resolve situations where there were multiple popes.

This time, I don’t know what will trigger it, but if Francis keeps on this way, it will happen again.

The media is building him up so very high. I can only speculate how it will go when he makes a string of less popular decisions and does not back away from it. If that ever happens.
