Richmond, Va. (1140wrva.com) A local oil industry analyst says look for $1.75 gas soon. John Zehler says retailers are giving up more and more of their record profit margins, which he says are around 40 cents, as the competition heats up.

Not sure.
My liberal inlaws have completely forgotten they have been pushing for Solar, Wind, and Electric cars for the past six years, complained about MMGW, and now want to credit Obama for gas prices. Absolutely disgusting.
According to Gas Buddy, it’s $1.75 in Lake Dallas, TX — 44 minutes ago.
There’s been a little gas war going on there: I count 3 stations there, at that price. It’s $1.75 at two more locations nearby.
I looked last weekend: the same 3 stations have been 5-10 cents below the prevailing price in this area.
They will be giving it away...
“Where was this guy six months ago?”
Out shopping for his Captain Obvious wardrobe.
Yeah, it’s infuriating, isn’t it?
Just exactly what Obama policy is responsible for the low gas prices, anyway? Just his godlike presence? If so, why did he make the country suffer for 6 years before giving us some relief?
Fed tax on fuel is on a per-gallon basis, not based on price, so they'll actually pull in more in taxes as people take advantage of the lower prices and buy more fuel.
States also do this, but some states also add sales tax on top of the price. CA is one, and there are a few others.
And diesel. The prevailing prices is still about $3/gallon, although Gas Buddy shows $2.67 at one station a short distance from me.
gas has a shelf life....
When it was mentioned exactly WHY oil is droppping, i.e. OPEC not cutting down supply to counter our domestic shale producers, etc. They tell you your “misinformed”.
I guess it is his god like presence in their mind. These people make me sick.
I’ve run into that as well - when you bring up a point that doesn’t support their conclusion,
they simply deny it without any backing of their own.
We all know the negative effects of gasoline and other fuels going up sharply.
This should be a tremendously good thing for the economy.
Combined with record grain crops and much lower prices there; we should also see food price’s be more favorable on some items.
The mild winter so far will help too.
“Pretty soon they will start giving away cutlery and flatware like the Shell station used to when I was a kid.”
“How do I get me a Cadillac car? Greenstamps, Greenstamps.
How do I get me a Cadillac car, fill up the Green Stamp book.”
It’s been 1.76 in Lowell Michigan for a few days now. Steadily been dropping.
Where it concerns the Current Occupant in the White Hut, things are a little outta control now. Gasoline has fallen in price not because of the policies now endorsed and promulgated from the Oval Orifice, but in spite of them. The vast increase in the flow of crude oil from US-sourced petroleum fields, and the natural gas production, is because of technological breakthroughs in the practice known as “fracking”, greatly increasing the productivity of these resources. Also, Saudi Arabia is in an economic struggle with the Russian Federation, whom the Saudis consider to be an existential threat. The Russian dependency on petroleum as an export staple is seriously undermined.
Watching the antics of the Progressives in their scramble for CYA is a little like watching the Great and Might Wizard of Oz spinning the wheels and tugging at the levers, all the while insisting that people should “ Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.”
Definitely agree - all of Obama’s policies are/were in OPPOSITION to making gas cheaper for the consumer.
All of the increased production was accomplished on private land outside of his regime’s control.
Thank you, Putin.
I hate to say this, but I wouldn’t mind seeing prices come up in time for the 2016 campaign. Hillary spinning low gas prices as evidence that we’re supposedly on the right path makes beating her a bit more daunting.
