Jeb Bush is the clear Republican presidential frontrunner, surging to the front of the potential GOP pack following his announcement that he's "actively exploring" a bid, a new CNN/ORC poll found.
He takes nearly one-quarter 23% of Republicans surveyed in the new nationwide poll, putting him 10 points ahead of his closest competitor, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who tallied 13%.

Every single Jeb thread need her name in it. Deal?
Except that every metric shows more of us than them. Your scenario does not explain how it is that that army you mention managed to lose to the state level pols you mention.
The reality is that people look at state and fed as two different animals. And Fed is the problem. All the govs and state leg. can say do or pass what they like. Barry then shoots it down in the courts and the fed level gop sits there on it’s thumbs because it likes the feeling and actually supports Barry.
No way to run a railroad. Get rid of the problem or be part of the problem. your call.
Deal! I’ve been trying, but I’ll try harder! :)
I never said it was. But most folks will tell us it is.
I work with a couple of guys who are Republican, yet they say they would vote for Bush 'to stop Hillary'. They think I'm too much of a purist. I'be tried to explain that I will never support a GOP candidate if he/she is no different than the dem. It would be one thing if Jeb just struck me as another squishy republican like his brother; but he is so upfront about his support for open borders that I cannot see how any republican can support him. Hell, Hillary might even be tougher on illegals if enough polls showed the winds of opinion blowing that way.
Then it's one thing that those of us who will never forget CAN DO...keep reminding; on every single Jeb thread that gets posted.
The federal propaganda machine is in FULL Rube Goldberg Mode..
Bells, Whistles, Ding Dongs and Whatachamacallits.. whirling, dancing, horns and brass balls bouncing..

the stink of the GOP
*************
A soulless party that stands for nothing.
We collectively shot ourselves electing them. Some of us warned exactly this would happen with total accuracy and were mocked. Now the mockers are scrambling to rewrite history.
We said it the last three elections running. And the very people we warned of, the ‘lesser evils’ did exactly, to the letter, what we said they would. Betray the reason we sent them there.
It would be embarrassing for Bush not to be the frontrunner at this point - he is the only one who has formed an exploratory committee.
CRUZ 2016
Isn’t it interesting that Ted Cruz is NEVER mentioned as a possible candidate on these polls? It is time for Free Republic to have its own poll. The results will get around.
Ask your co-workers to define what the GOP stands for. Then ask what the party has done to advance conservative issues. Watch the blank stares on their faces.

I agree SpeakerToAnimals, we will hear this from all MSM media outlets ad infinitum til the ‘16 election. Won’t work on me though. I will remain registered Republican so I can vote against RINO’s in the primary, then vote Constitution Party in the general as I have for the last 2 elections. To those who see that as a wasted vote, that’s their prerogative. At least I’m at peace with myself and sleep well afterwards.
The GOP is beholden to K Street, not us.
As are their supporters right here on FR. And everywhere else. They need to hear it.
Yep, thats their game plan. The gullible GOP will fall for it every time.
Not only that but more left leaning states usually decide the contenders before it gets to conservative states.
The libs/demos don’t mind voting in the open primary states to help determine the republican nominee.
We should push to end “open primaries.” This is how we usually get a GOPe candidate. Democrats and “Independents” cross over to support the least electable candidate.
“Reverse OP Chaos!
I can see the same thing happening if Hillary and Fauxcahontas duke it out in 2016.”
Yep, I am a registered Democrat just exactly for that purpose. If it looks like Cruz needs the help in my state GOP caucus and primary, I could switch back, although it would be fun to bad mouth Hillary at the Democrat caucus.
Oooo! I forgot about that one. I just added TerriSchaivo as a keyword to all December Jeb threads.
I elect Stars & Stripes to do the same for Elian! (I’m only one woman, LOL!)
To be fair, the MSM is also pushing “Hillary can’t be beat” while at the same time her polls indicate that her support is shallower than a puddle after a 20-minute rainfall.
There’s a real chance the Democrats will be faked out, and nominate Hillary by default with (say) Bernie Sanders playing the role that Joe Biden played in 2000 against Al Gore — nominal opposition.
At least on our side we can be comforted that we won’t be faked out into nominating Jeb — between Cruz, Walker and Jindal, if even only one runs, we’re already assured we will have the strongest conservative aspirant for the Republican nomination since Reagan in 1980. Unlike the moderate nominees since Reagan, if Jeb’s the nominee it will be out of conscious decision not to go right by a plurality of the Republican primary and caucus voters.
