Police officers in Texas City fatally shot and killed a man identified by family members as Carlton Smith, a 20-year-old African-American. Texas City Police Chief Robert Burby said he was shot down because he was armed and was pointing his weapon at one of the officers.
What happened, according to the police, is that the manager of HT’s Lounge called to report a fight breaking out inside the club. When the police arrived, they saw an individual firing a gun in the direction of patrons exiting the club.
He reportedly pointed his gun at an officer and was shot down. Club owner Harris Aldridge said he reviewed video footage and said the individual did, in fact, make a more toward the cop with a gun.
Some witnesses have different accounts of what happened. One said Smith was shot at from behind, without warning, and others said he may have been holding the gun, but there was another woman who shot in the air to break up the fighting.
Whatever happened, there are reports that after Smith was shot, the crowd of over 100 people threw bottles and rocks at the police. A Texas City PD spokesperson said there were no reported injuries.
As for Smith’s family, they say he was not a violent person and have some questions about the official police accounting of what happened.

Sharpton and Jackson and others are beginning to have some backlash and creditability problems. Sharpton has crossed the line in New York and both are hiding out after the Brown case resulted in the rioting, looting, and burning of Ferguson. I think the least thing they want is notarity at this time. They have done their job lighting the fires in the black community.
OTH, the black community (both local or national) is in an uproar and one might demand Holder and his DOJ look into the matter. In which case, it will disappear into a black hole and never see the light of day because they are unable to prove any of the imagined civil rights violations have occurred.
If they try to pull a "Ferguson" in Texas City, they might find stronger opposition to their cause than they anticipated. And at best, their cause is weak in the Texas City incident. This too will pass for an honourable mention in the media. But no, this is not the big one they want.

Yes, some liberals never learn. We had hoped she left Texas for greener pastures in California. They got a lot more babies to murder there. Our legislators are working to discourage abortions in Texas but we've a long way to go.

What we are starting to see is Thug Logic, they think because of all the crap going on, they are now immune to being shot by police, they are thugs for a reason, they are not slow learners they are no learners, we will see many more getting shot while in the process of committing a crime, and the riots will persist.

Most of the time, a LEO in Texas will not shoot you for disturbing the peace. But if you point a gun at them all bets are off. Every time an LEO has to break up a public or domestic disturbance he is aware of the risks involved and has been trained to react to them. He has been trained to protect and serve, and to kill if necessary to protect your life and his.
Many times he does not have time to judge his adversary by color, ethnicity, what mama believes, or whether it is politically correct when a split second decision must be made. It takes a brave person to be a LEO knowing he may be risking his life every time he answers a call. The NYPD officers who where assassinated were brave men and the victims of political correctness administered a cowardly leftist.
In this incident, if the facts are correct, our LEO made the right decision and has served the public well. Political correctness be damned.

I won’t go into them, because when I have done so in the past, people get their hackles up about it.
