If I were that man’s widow I would not let DeFazio speak. Not for a million bucks.

Why is the family allowing this? It’s their call as to who shows up at a family funeral.
My take is that they have “sadly” provided the “o.k.” for both DeBlasio and Uncle Fester.
Personally, if were my son that just died, I would not allow them entrance and certainly would not let either speak at the services.
Yes, you’re right about that but if they become a serious political liability then de Blasio will simply pay them off to get them to take a brake and disappear for awhile. Everything is bought and paid for in this system.
while I would not argue against your point, I would bring out that our civil society developed long before those forces which are trying to destroy it. Roots that deep cannot be eliminated without all out war. No fundamental transformation can be gradual enough to avoid this.
I think that illustrates that we who try to be aware and alert and who have thought through what is actually going on (as opposed to swallowing the media swill) are a small minority of the general population.
I want one of those.
If he was serious about healing the country Obama should have been at the funeral instead of Biden. De Blasio’s presence will not be well received by the assembled police.

Exactly what I said when it was announced that Slow Joe was coming. I think even the most hard core of us would have had to give him props for that. But, sending in that fool is, to me, adding insult to injury.
I appreciate what you’re saying and, of course, sympathize with your view. However, liberalism has been working hard to steadily erode those very roots you cite. For decades, the civility and mores of our society have deteriorated significantly under their influence and control.
I just don’t see any serious resistance or conflict ever happening. Americans have been conditioned to accept outrageous affronts to their beliefs and have become largely passive. Just the way the government likes it.
IMHO things won’t change for the better until some major, life altering event occurs to cause people to wake up. So far the frog still hasn’t realized its being boiled.
Not only would I turn my back, I would begin a conversation with any officer around me. If all ten thousand did this, nobody would know what Blasio said.

You wouldn’t get that from me and I’m sure that says not great things about me but deblasio is a communist and to my mind he can take his family and go live in his beloved cuba. He’s as big an enemy of the cops as joanne chesimard or any of the other “revolutionaries”.

Can’t speak for the families, but if I had to guess, its because the families are decent, civil, nice people.
Being decent, civil and nice are important for a society. Except when a society becomes evil like today.
Then the above is weakness that is easily pushed around and ultimately destroyed.
At some point being decent and nice has to be replaced with ruthlessness. It’s terrible that it may have to come to that, but kindness never won a war.
Actually rotten tomatoes would work better. I like the way they imapct better.
